the kaiser:
Big Mouth H, they’ll all be after it now !
I packed promo in when my kids were born in 1998, but did it for about three years prior to that, my basic pay looked unimpressive but I used to clear about £3,000 a month and didn’t have to pay for anything other than my ■■■■. That would be equivalent to about £5,000 a month nowadays I suppose.
It would be interesting to see the job if anyone has a link?
On the face of it though, it pays £120, seven days a week, which is £840. It quite possibly pays a per diem of £50 a day, seven days a week so we’re up to £1190 a week already, which is about on a par with what I would imagine is the going rate. Plus all your food paid.
But yes, this type of work isn’t for everybody and there’s normally very little driving. I used to love it, there’s normally a good crew and it’s a great craic for someone who doesn’t mind being away. You do have to muck in and do whatever needs doing to get the show up and running, I’ve seen the chairman of BP Europe roll up his sleeves and mop the floor of the trailer, everybody is equal and everyone does anything they can help.
