Women driving class 1

simcor:
We have 3 women at our place currently. As long as you can the job physically then absolutely no reason why you should not be hired as equally as a man. Some types of work are more physically demanding, so depends what work your looking for. Basics are being able to hook up airlines etc and some paces being able to do curtains and use straps etc. Some jobs do require handball though so heavy lifting can be involved.

It’s more about technique than brute force when it comes stuff like strapping and connecting/disconnecting air lines. You can always use two hands instead of one.

Agreed there sometime we women have to find a different way round to some things as this was discussed a while ago myself ( not the tallest or heaviest ) can actually rope & sheet 1 of the lad couldn’t understand this until we said it is not all about brute force but technique & finding our own way of doing it

I’m currently trying to campaign for more ladies in this industry, your gender should go in your favour with a forward thinking company. As mentioned it’s best to go in person ready for a shift, this goes for all sexes.

As with any male dominant industry the blokes have messed it up, we need more women to help us sort out the dodgy facilities we have to put up with.

So ■■■■■■ ladies all aboard, trucks are easier to drive than most cars and for heavy graft stuff just find a way round it or stand by your truck crying till a big butch trucker turns up to help, like I do.

My place has a few female drivers and is training women out the warehouse to drive trucks as well.

Admit it, you also want more eye candy?

But I do agree about improvements in standards with women about…
