What with Christmas round the corner, he’d be an ideal candidate for santa’s job !
fast and furious plus all the drops in one night failing that pantomime springs to mind…
I was thinking the same with time and distance to Andulucia, and it would be a struggle to do that trip, the van man is on about in 24 hours.Driving at night, flat out.■■■■■■■■■■■ driver.Calais to the border at Irun, guessing at 16 hours driving then Irun to Malaga at 12 hours driving.

Same Day: UK to south Spain in less than 24 hrs (same day) no problemhope he dont mean in a lorry
id like to see him trying it in a car or motorbike you gotto be doin at least 80mph all the time without stopping to average 62mph,wot about ferries, tolls, food, traffic, accidents and roadworks, the blokes a complete and utter muppet
Out of interest, I’ve just put Cartagena into my sat nav and it comes up with a journey time of 25.21 hours from Hemel Hempstead with my sat nav set to 54mph maximum speed. I reckon I could do it in a car within 24 hours if I broke the speed limit most of the way.
Whether I would want to is another matter, but if there was a million quid prize for doing it, I would give it a go.
yes but it doesnt record the 2hrs crossin the channel waiting at the docks it just puts in the 23-odd miles to cross the channel at 54mph plus the journey time is only an ETA,i have put bad urach in my ■■■■ nav from my home town and its 690 mile set at 60mph and it tells me i can do it in 9hrs 35mins when it takes me 16hrs and i do it every week
I can just imagine this bloke sat, watching, waiting for his phone to ring and not understanding why it doesn’t.Then he goes out to deliver his pizzas.
there one very important thing he as forgot as he a driving licence cos
Same Day: UK to south Spain in less than 24 hrs (same day) no problem
i am sure he mite have lost it by now

Suggest you get yourself a decent Satnav then
e.g. Mine says the journey from Dover to Calais takes around 1.5 hours…
And it says from my home to Bad Urach (only 656 miles from here) will take a little over 13 hours, FWIW

just try doin 1500 mile non stop, its got nothin to do with satnav, mine is set to tell me if tolls and ferries are on route its a navman S80 european and it says roughly 1.5hrs to cross the channel not the 2hrs waiting to get on/off and the crossing time…does it realy matter it cant be done leagally and safely so its not worth arguing about the blokes a first rate muppet
I wasn’t suggesting what he claims could be done legally or safely (if at all). My point was that if your Satnav says you can do a 690 mile journey in 9 1/2 hours at 60mph max then there’s something wrong with it!
FYI, 690 miles in 9hrs 35 mins means travelling at an average of 72mph. Now please tell me how you do that without exceeding 60mph…?

Yes, I did read what you wrote - That’s why I said there must be something wrong with your Satnav (and why I originally said you should get a decent one )
Maybe you should read what I wrote as well

No, my SatNav routes me via the tunnel and is realistic about the transit time. But I was on six ferries last week on a trip to Stockholm and my SatNav was accurate about transit times on five of those (it couldn’t understand Harwich- Europoort).
On the Helsingor-Helsingborg ferry you can stay in your truck on the crossing as it is an open deck, which I did, and the ETA never changed all the way across.
Harry Monk:

there a fault with the GPS system it can’t count for tides so it waits to you landed and then tell you something you know with out doubt, you have arrived
Not forgeting the Gendarmes at the peages, who will calculate time/distance/speed on the entry/exit time printed(Very small)on the back of the toll ticket.Best to have coffee, cigarette breaks more often to space it out.
