Wincanton

That’s not nice, explains why I’ve passed a few on the A14   Could be an 11/12 hour shift :frowning: O/T at time and a half :frowning:
I was held up for over 2 hours last Month at Alconbury, apparently they had just fired two ‘lifters’. :unamused:

Some of the drivers that take the Fuel Bonus Scheme (too) seriously tend to cruise at 45 to 48 :unamused: To be fair, some of them are on somewhere around the Grand mark per year.

Time and a half ■■? You’ll be lucky. My midweek overtime rate is less than time and a quarter. Sunday rate is just over time and a half (I think) Guess who don’t work weekends - lol

But they’re my figures.

Yeah - I think they actually named it the Newbury Depot, but it’s the old Greehnam Common Air Base.

Nice talking to ya Dambuster   Thanks for the info.
Interesting, I’ll see what happens with the drive next week and if work picks up with the Agency.

No worries.

It’s not as bad as I might sometimes paint it

I often describe it as possibly the best job I’ve ever had, but sadly these are the worst people I’ve ever worked for.

But you’d have to take into account the contract I’m on, and the history of the “personalities” involved.

Or if you prefer you can buy your own wagon and have container “work offered to you on a plate” for £1.14 per mile at 44 tonnes.

Hold me back, i’m frothing at the mouth and champing at the bit! :unamused:

WTF
Are you saying the wage is good at Wincanski?

I was being sarcastic… To spell it out: The wages are crap and subbying on containers for them is crap. Simples.

i no downtons do a contract of 5 on 2 off and then 5 on 3 off and have been trying to get existing drivers on it but they dont want it because its crap and maybe wincanton are trying the same thing it means you work alot of weekends for no extra coin. i think there contract is similar and pay, they take home around 370 after tax, i was always under the impression winny’s drivers were on mega bux …well thats what they tell you.

quote of 2011 above about megabux hahahahahahahaa :grimacing:

dinosteveus1:
Loads of ‘foreigners’ there :unamused: BUT the pay is only £428 BEFORE stoppages for a 55 hour week. WOW, that’s [zb].

Whats wrong with our european brotheres going for the job, and when you saw the pay you dhould have told them to stuff it
