In 1970 I had loaded at LCOW Canvey Island for ICI Hillhouse one Saturday morning and was chatting to weighman while waiting for my notes and away home to Sheffield.A Wim Vos F88 with a spread axled tandem trailer on single wheels pulled on bridge.The scales went to 40 tons and would not weigh the artic,driver had to drop unit off so bridge could cope.It was loaded with Latex and driver said they used to cross Channel and into Newhaven as they did not get weigh checked there. 
Good afternoon Hans1956,when did Wm Voss cease trading?and i see youre from Oss,the company i work for on lift tanks are based there and Barneveld,H & S who also do lift tanks,is there any link between the two?

Wim Vos has unfortunately been shut down in 1999
and there is no connection with H & S

I believe Wim Vos bought out George Catchpole tankers at Ellesmere Port years ago Hans.They worked out of Shell Chemicals Stanlow.
