Why do they not listen to drivers?

Regarding the OP it doesn’t suprise me that this kind of stuff has been going on. BILLIONS is wasted every year on useless projects like this. If they just took a step back and had a good luck at it instead of diving in head first they would save time and money.
Alot of the time its very simple but people love to make things more complicated than they are to try and justify their use in the business.

We have a pony sleeper box. The boss put a heater in with the switch in the cab. It is useless. How do you get the heat into the box? I won’t sleep up there in the winter. Engine running is the only way to keep warm. :unamused:

The point is to do it properly…

And anyway: if running engine is helping to to make it warm, so should do night heater, even if it’s only working in the cab. Warm air goes up…

Trust me Orys…No warm air gets up there. It’s like sleeping outside!

Trust me, I spend fair share of my nights in a pony sleeper. And not only in this job.

The basic point is : do not cover the holes to let air flow.

If you do not cover the holes in the floor, the warm air will go up through them. Basic laws of physics, known for several centuries (visit in Roman baths can prove, that it was known even back then). And for that matter it does not mean if it’s warm air from webasco, or warm air from engine (altough webasco is much more effective).

And off course if you don’t have a pipe leading directly to the sleeper, you have to set quite high temperature - so while it’s comfy “upstairs” it is sauna “downstairs”.

Just a bad installation I think!

Another one today not go into details but up to aberdeen with 11 pallets while our subby goes up to aberdeen with the other 12 pallets. I could have took the lot instead we pay 600 quid out to the subby because our planning is a joke :unamused:

You know on monday i went to aberdeen from bellshill with 6 pallets and returned empty as my backload in fife got chopped for another guy coming from ayr, frigin madness

My contribution from the “south”

Someone has spent a LOT of money on automated truck loaders (basically robot fork trucks)

One of said machine arrives to start trials, when it goes into the back of the trailer, the legs are lifting off the floor :exclamation: :exclamation:

trucks weighs 5 Tonne, :unamused:

Result---------------idea scrapped.

red most of my opening post is at cupar. They have just spent millions up there on an extension and its all to come down again next summer for another jones machine. Why not just plan for the future knowing that there will be another jones machine coming so make it the appropriate size in the first place. They are all daft as brushes!

That is why they use jacks or blocks under the chassis. I wouldn’t go into an unaccompanied trailer with anything much heavier than a pallet truck :stuck_out_tongue:
