When I worked for them we used to run 10mm limestone chippings down there from Tilcon in Derbyshire with eight leggers 20 years ago until artics cut the rate by nearly 50% to get a backload of scrap from (I think) Fords!

Those poor truck drivers, how they cope on the cr@p money they get paid, I will never know…
P.S. You’re meant to drive the security truck, not raid it!

At home enjoying a day off with my wife and son. Priceless!
Life isn’t all about money. I get paid a very good wage for a very good job and getting time at home is just as important to me.

Well spotted Sweepster…naughty step for me…As long as we can understand the sentence that’s written, it doesn’t matter if it’s not perfect grammar.

Money isn’t important to anyone who’s got loads of it.
It’s having none, or being in the process of moving towards having none - that causes all the upset.

You be careful Pete, all that way down there and only a street map of Bakewell to guide you, Good job you had Big Tilly or White Knight to follow. I’ve been out today though, Mr. Shipton rang up this morning so it was off to a lay by on the A42 before Ashby and take a broken down Renault artic (French Bedford) to RH Commercials at Lenton Lane, Nottingham, even took my dad a ride out today, he had the biggest job to climb up into the recovery lorry but he enjoyed a jolly out. I thought I’d better make some wages to pay for yesterdays’ diesel bill, you’ve seen the weekend wheelspinning pictures that your mate Dave took

i am the opposite. I kipped in the truck on Saturday night rather than go home. 9 hours off, 45 minutes each way, unwind, up, food and shower and fit some sleep in. Or kip in the truck? I had a night out on Sunday anyway
I filled my boots yesterday, 14 1/2 hours @ time an a half + a lieu day. 6 hours POA and 2 breaks included
I’m off today and tomorrow so thought I might as well have a long day
