Who's been where w/e 29/11/25. Actually contributing to my own thread this week!

Been away down south this week, catching up with friends and my mum in and around Salisbury.

Two trucks road tested out of Reading this week, too. Iveco’s S-Way 580, which goes like a fcking train, and their 500hp gas truck. That’s pretty damn good as well, truth be told!

Finally a detour via Byfleet to pick up my freshly refurbished sculling boat. If anyone saw a green car with a two-piece banana on the roof on the A35/M40/M69/M1/M18/A1/A19, that would have been me…blushes :face_with_peeking_eye:

Salisbury last sat for parkrun., Gosport to get more timber for my shed build and that’s my only 2 ventures beyond Southampton this week coz I’ve been off all week. Back Monday then it’s my 2 off

Collected chicken litter (a mixture of their bedding and poo) from various chicken farms around the country and delivered it to Therford power station.

Next week pretty much the same thing with a north Wales collection bias.

Wed…9 am start,.waited for a loaded trailer to come in, so washed truck.and got it back to standard I left it for the dirty ■■■■■ who left it for me ……booked an hour so not too fussed.

Tip and re.load Sunderland, pick my trailer up parked up about 9pm Carnforth.

Thurs…Swindon, Highbridge, Stogursey, park up Cullompton.

Fri…Cullompton,.Honiton, Bodmin…re.load Avonmouth, park Stoke.

Sat ….Sainsburys East Kilbride 3 and half bloody hours, back in yard for 5 finish 6pm…..48 hours in this week.

Home to watch The Toon hammer Everton.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: (wife recorded it for me) so avoided the score on radio.

Last 2 weeks only done about 64 hours and 4 nights out , giving me a reasonable take home .
Hitting the half century this year has given me a proverbial slap in the face wake up call and said weekends are yours not the companies , also had to many weekend OT days either not happen or not happen as they should so F it to working Saturday or Sunday now unless running in due to unforeseen .
Also in processes of looking for second dog so need to be home so they can have a good weekend walkies
WORK TO LIVE NOT LIVE TO WORK

Yeah I wasn’t having a pop at you mate,.(nor got to say equally at anybody who HAS to work long hours) , I do get it…..Jeez I did it myself for long enough ffs.

Thing is now I’m working the amount of hours that people do in ‘‘Proper Jobs’‘, in a job I’m content with and can do with my eyes shut….(not literally btw, that would be just dangerous and irresponsible :joy: )

Guys can say wtf they like, but the hours we are expected to do in this industry are f kin ridiculous in Century 21, all this talk of H&S being paramount in the job just does not correlate with max hours and minimum rest,….all bs with NO substance ..(like everything else in this sh industry)

Yep spot on in one, it s a pity more did not think the same instead of being their own worst enemies and exacerbating the crap conditions…..(again not knocking the ‘‘Have to.s’‘ )

I now make a decent living, (only me and Mrs at home now) and I have a decent home and social life at the same time.

I remember about 20 years ago my then small daughter saying ‘‘Daddy why can you not get a job like other Daddies who come home for their teas’’ that hurt, and I’ve never forgot it.

I seem to have started a bit of a trend at my firm, I’ve been told that at least 4 more guys have asked to cut back which ain’t gone down well..

My view ….■■■■ em, look after numero uno, I was the one who asked first.
