class 1 store deliveries,birmingham,12.17 per hour 45 hrs per week loads of weekends @ an extra 1.75 per hour…but money aint everything!
south staffordshire work 4 on / 4 off 48hrs ,I get £10 an hour once youve added the bonus in plus a £19 a day shift allowance , but given the amount of work I dont do as we are on call the rate doesnt bother me as im getting paid for sleeping
£16 an hour is the highest I’ve seen so far ? Any tanker drivers here? They must be on a fair whack.

Im on £11.09 an hourI wouldn’t get out of bed for that
I wouldn’t still be in bed at 6pm for that rate either.
Can’t imagine it being a weekday day rate?!
Aye up, tis bleak up north, we are lucky to get £6.00 hr and thats minus an hour each dayfor breaks. After we pay for parking out of night out money and a fuel surcharge to help the running costs of the wagon I,m lucky to take home between 50 to 60p a week, theres one consolation I dont need to worry about where all the money goes

You shouldn’t be so loyal to Stobart Sid, there’s a good few more companies out there!

That would be the last straw having to work for “The Green Gestapo”

tanker driver as requested around £16 an hour
Since I switched to nights I have no idea what my hourly rate is, and we’ve just had a pay rise which will come through on next months wages so it will change to another amount I don’t know. Those figures are in the south east.
18.50
zloty/per hour dont like to brag thou

officially £7.75 p.h,but according to my mate, the fact theyve reduced the gauranteed hrs+cut the fuel bonus means the hourly rate is now £7.00 p.h[did explain it to me,but it all went a bit over my head to be honest],but hes normally not far away with his sums,so for the next 4 months it could well be £7.00 p.h[remind me what the minium wage is again]
So you’re on £7.75 p/h then. Doesn’t matter what they do with your guaranteed hours or fuel bonus or night out money, you’re paid £7.75 for any hours you work.
Oh, and Stobart pay rates are terrible. I got a job after leaving Stobbies 6 months ago, £10 p/h, home every night and easier job.

My hourly rate is £10.30 for day trunking from Bridgwater, no weekends. Some of our lads that work nights or weekends earn over £12.i drive class 2 out of the bridgwater depot and the basic is about £8.30/h.
Best i look into getting my class 1 i think, didn’t realise it was an extra 2 quid an hour!
Hi Kevin,
This is based on a 48 hour week of which 16 hours are at time and half, plus a few unsociable hours means I gross just under £500. I would have thought your wage would be similar if not more as you guys get extra for handling trolleys?

ah, so that is your average hourly rate.
In that case, yeah i am on almost exactly the same!

I get £9.50 weekdays £11.50 saturdays and £12 sundays on days only, the same rate i was getting 7 years ago from the agencys who havnt heard of pay rises or inflation in kent…And the gits will try and clip the last 15 mins off your timesheet as well. Don’t let them, and stand up against the noises they make about “not having you back if you don’t let us clip you when we feel like it” which would be all the time once you admit the thin end of the wedge to one’s posterior…
Penny pinching firms that already make a healthy profit really get my goat!

If you let someone clip you at either end, and then work elsewhere at a supermarket like tescos, you’ll get an infringement for “no lead in/lead out time” which some firms call “service vehicle/wash & brush up time”.
If my digi comes out at 05:32, then I book until 05:45 stating I’d be uninsured for the last 2 minutes against falling down the stairs on the way out should I only be paid until 05:30!!!

they now stop an hour for break when it used to be half an hour tight gits so i have hour and half break now as i keep my wtd 30 min break seperate
as requested, yes its good wage not as GREAT a job as people might think it is and its certainly is not for everyone. Crap rolling day and night shift pattern which totally screws me up, we are only allowed to book 5 working shift days off a year, other holiday days you put in to bump up salary on rest days.
Flat rate of £16 per hour inc nights, weekends, bank holidays, and overtime.
Our rolling day/night shift pattern consists Days 5am start shift 12 hours, Night Shift 5pm start 10 hours 45mins
Mon Tue Wed [ Day ] Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon [ night]
Thu Fri Sat Sun [ Day ] Tue Wed Thu [night ]
this is then repeated, before a 10 day break which obv if you were on your 10 day break last month you’d have to put in your holiday days to bump your money up, Holidays pay 10 hours. I try to aim for 20 shifts a months, I don’t work rest days because I’m to knackered by then anyways and I actually like to see my Family.
10 day break is nice, great if you haven’t got a family [ this year none of my breaks coincide with my childrens so its hard for them too ] goes bloody quick as in real terms to everyone else it is only a week off the way they look at it. And to be honest it takes me till the Monday just to recover. Not like I’m moaning mind lol
Oh and no bonus or perks whatsoever, although we were last year awarded a pair of Slazenger sunglasses by Exxon Mobil to say thanks for our outstanding efforts!
Tanker driver here too.
Hey Wills, looks like we work on the same contract?
the lovely hoyer / esso shift bad Vlad
Based on you doing 10 days of 12 hours at £16 an hour and 10 nights of 10.75 hours are £16 an hour, you average £182 a shift. So if you maintain that 20 shifts a month for a whole year that’s 43.6k!
never enough
Sorry Dave I should have stated that those were shift maximum. Garaunteed hours for days is 10 and 9 for nights. Although if you wanted to work extra’s on days off that fig would be easily acheivable.
Not forgetting you cannot always make 20 shifts per month, as you run out of H days. And H days pay 10hours. Low months can be down to 15 shifts etc I haven’t ever done a Basic year but I think it works out around 34-35k. Think I have said on here before I used to earn not far off that basic on Nights eeeeasylife trunking STRESS FREE. But I actually enjoy all the ■■■■ that comes with the job, and like every job some days are just crap [when you might as well be in a van doin multi drop the times they give us to get jobs done] and other days you think ’ they’re paying me for this ’ Quality [ generally when you pick up a long distance 1 hitter ] which aint often mind
ps we also get fined if we do drop a load 15 notes
