Who does the most mileage in 24 hours

709 miles in just under 10 and a quarter hours, last week.

70mph average. Aren’t American trucks speed limited?

Well technically so are Irish ones…

Hovis in Bradford could clock up some mileage. Running seven days a week, job and finish, with no allocated drivers to motors a unit could easily do Mossend twice and be on it’s way to Birmingham or Leicester within 24 hours.

UPS when they where in Nuneaton used to run double manned to ■■■■■■■■■■■ and back

one man job that. :grimacing:

That was also actually a Carryfast trunk before the UPS takeover. While the Feltham to sometimes as far as Killington Lake and back direct changeover was single manned. All done within a 12 hour shift .

When did the Nuneaton depot close. :open_mouth:

I once did Glasgow to Beijing with concrete. Left 6pm on Tuesday and was back 1730 on wednesday. Got held up coming back through Belarus which saved me cause otherwise id have been on the herald

I find this amusing
When I lived over there Oxford to Inverness would take me 2 days. Rugby to Glasgow when I worked for Fed Ex took a day and a half each way.
Over here … 700 miles a day is nothing to sneeze at

As a bit of a benchmark today did Halesowen to Jarrow, 220 miles in 4hr 24 mins, then Jarrow to Halesowen 220 miles in 4hr 26 mins.

Pretty much a clear run and flat out all the way and included the 40 & 50 mph restrictions on the A1/A1M.

Admirable indeed.

Where was this between if ok to ask…■■

Night run / day run or does it matter where you may be… ■■

Early Sunday morning start out of Council Bluffs, northbound on Interstate 29. Through Missouri, Iowa, North and South Dakota where the speed limit is 80 mph; so all legal.
700 is a bit more than I normally do but if I know I can get home that night then I crack-on.

Do a regular run now on Saturday leave Stoke double manned at 02.00 for Cowdenbeath, tip about 08.00, back empty and in the yard at 14.30.
Depending on how the tacho is calibrated as to how many klicks, but usually about 900.

we have a dayshift, Manchester to Glasgow, and a night shift, same trunk, and its quite possible for the same motor, to do this 5 days a week, with a bonus single shift on a Sunday… 800+ miles in 24 hours…

I rode from Castelo Branco in Portugal to my home in Lincs. weds/thurs…Took 29 hours including an hour faffing with the tunnel. 1350 miles, no tolls.

4800 kms , 4 live loads and 5 unloads in 63 hrs limited at 100 kph .Even managed a night at home during  , nice scenery equals smiles per miles .

Most Nft truck (especially NFT Asda) work in 2 shift per day 7 day per week. Near all truck do 1 million km in 3 years.

Who would ave thought 20 years ago we would be sat here drinking chataue de chasuler but

Little bit over, but I did from a pack house around an hour south of Valencia to New Spittlefields market in 27 an half hours driving.
Revision, coffees and a ferry crossing took me 36 hours. Distance was just over 1900Kms.

Regular used to do Brindisi/Bari off the ferry to the Blanc, good sleep and then drive back to Leeds. 48 hours and around 2500Ks,

but tell that to the youth of today and they wont believe you…

If you`re gonna talk about non-trucks I reckon Freight Dog may be able to trump you.

Nice
Today, just to finish my week I started just north of Philadelphia and set out for St Albans VT, 20 miles from my drop an old couple decided to run into the side of my trailer, they got the ticket and I was sent on my way by Vermont state troopers  I got to my house to end my working week with only 3 minutes left on my elog, 576 miles, so a short day

3600kms for me, left Sunday with two for Regina, tipped both of them, went to the drop yard to get another one, tipped that in town and reloaded it in Indian Head, then up to Saskatoon with two empties, camped out there and then did two pick ups in town, then up to Prince Albert for number 3, back to Saskatoon for the other trailer, then off to Lloydminster for the final pick up and then to Edmonton for the night. Dropped the loaded one and the empty in the yard and went to load, got told to come back later and they took my number to call me when they were ready, which was much later, went back to the yard with that and grabbed another loaded one, both for delivery in Winnipeg on Friday, stayed in Lloydminster Wednesday night and because I could only get pm bookings for the two deliveries in Winnipeg, I gave up in Brandon and rolled in to Winnipeg at lunchtime, delivered the two trailers, hooked them back up and dragged them back to the yard. Biggest day I did was Tuesday, 500 odd miles, four pick ups and a bit of messing around dropping and hooking up the back trailer. Not a bad week’s graft for a lazy fat git.
