Nearly met Lucy today but I believe that Alex alerted her to the fact I was heading in her direction :laughing: so she [zb] off and went andhid in Bradford, muttering all sorts of excuses. :frowning:

Sorry Rob…but you can’t claim credit for that one. After the most god-awful morning from hell (box wouldn’t fit on trailer so had to do the dock twice…tip at St Helens bedlam as tipped on the road with no room for anyone to get by…first half of groupage reload in a place designed for vans, and a “driver-assist” job at that) I got my doors open to load the second half at Bedfords only for them to spot the HUGE hole in the roof that I hadn’t seen. :cry: :cry: :cry:

It’s our responsibility to check, and I’d been in the back of the [zb] thing being rained on through it 45 minutes earlier, so god knows how I failed to notice… :blush: :blush: :blush:

One irate TM later (She hung up on me. Twice.) I get sent to Bradford to tip off the first half of the load. Two days on my mileage has dropped to such an appalling level ( 550km a day… :cry: :cry: :cry: ) that I am forced to bite my lip and apologise in person (I’d been avoiding her until then, communicating entirely by text message). Immediately get a decent Kirkcaldy run, back empty, with a 20 minute local job (pays £25) to make my money up on the back before running away. Phew!

All is now fine again. I wonder who else has upset her, since the heat is obviously off me. :question: :open_mouth: :stuck_out_tongue: :wink: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

In person … James 1 couldn’t get close enough to shake hands as we passed face to face at some traffic lights and I also slowly overtook him on I-87.
