Which OS?

I imagine this survey would be completely out of date by now, I’m sure plenty of us will have changed mobile systems in the past year.

well tech has really changed over the last few years…

I have had a Samsung Galaxy S5 for the last year and a half. Unfortunately am locked in a 2 year deal otherwise I would hop to the S6 Edge without a second thought.

Had an iPhone 4 for about 4 years now, tried windows phone & samsung (android) also, however I have always gone back to putting my sim back into the iPhone.
Also got a mini iPad & iMac at home, they all sync with each other & make planning on the go a breeze, I can put in a location to my desktop at home & then ping the directions to either my phone or iPad.

The price of the kit is not cheap…but you deffo get quality & innovation.

I’ve got a iPhone 5s and iPad mini love them

Wilky try windows 10 mobile massive improvement

You mean my 2 cans with string is now out of date :open_mouth:

I have Windows 7 on my desktop, Windows 8 on my phone and Windows 10 on my laptop, I also have an Android tablet. I’m renewing my phone in February, I’m getting a Windows 10 phone with a free Windows 10 tablet.

Sorry, but I’m not much of a computer genius, but someone on here might be able to help me.

I bought one of those little notebook laptops a few years ago (hardly used it)

My daughters lappy lost the plot, and at the time I couldn’t afford to get her a new one, so I decided to do a factory restore on mine and let her have that.

It has no cd rom, so I’d had to create my back up on a USB stick.

Plugged it in and let it do its stuff.

Failed - one hardly used computer wiped, no OS, nothing, and with not having a drive, it came with no back up discs.

So I went on eBay and got an el cheapo Windows repair disk for a couple of quid. When prompted for my key, I just used the one on the sticker on the machine.

By the way, it’s Windows 7 Starter.

Now when I turn it on, I just get a black background with the words (This copy of Windows is not genuine)

Do I stand a chance of getting Windows 10 on it, or should I just bin it?

Just try the upgrade as Ms aren’t really bothered about pirate copies of windows 7 from all reports

Cheers, will give it a whirl when I’m home. If I can find the bloody charger for it.

You can install Ubuntu on it from the USB drive. It’s a lightweight free OS, very powerful and can make an old computer feel years younger. The only downside is “popular program” compatibility although there’s plenty of open source out there that can do the same things. But as you’ve said there’s no CD drive that shouldn’t be a problem.

Give me a shout if you need a hand.

Cheers bud. I used to be pretty savvy with pc stuff, but then iPhones etc turned up, and you don’t bother anymore.

No worries mate. There’s always someone who know more!

I like my OSX but also run Ubuntu
Dont like Window
