If I said 'Miguels ’ it would be a complete shot in the dark. If I saw the restuarant from another angle I would probably know it . I spent over 10yrs mooching around Matoshinos & the rest of the low down dives in Portugal.
i think its manchester
OK Harry
I will give you this one.
The name of the Restaurant in question was the Mocambique…
Your shout for the imaia de Lulas and the plate of Tripas, washed down with 1/2 bottle of Vinho Verde. Oh and lets not forget the bowl of Sopa de Legumas, after the main course !! of course.
I used to use the little restaurant opposite the Customs in Oporto alot too.
I spent a good stretch running UK-Portugal for Smithy, in an Irish Reg 111 mainly Tip Algarve or Lisbon, Re-load Oporto ( Shoes for BSC Leicester)Friday, clear about midnight and be on the ferry at Boulogne for Sunday lunch, then up to Leicester for Sunday night ready for 6am booking Monday morning and some good sllep while you got tipped…
Happy days.

Mostly groupage ;drop Lisbon /Porto . That lovely Matosinhos Customs with the tellies blaring out soaps on a Friday night. Nightmare! Years later I parked in Lisbon Customs & that miserable scumbag with the handlebar moustach that ran the cafe had lost all his trade but he cstill ripped me off for a phone call.
When I first went to Porto we did the customs in the street on the sea front where the tram terminus is close to the town.
In Lisbon it was in the street near the central train station. Plenty of cabs broken into.
That cafe is probably a McDon’s now.
