The only dodgey bit of the a140 is at Stonham . the rest of the road you will get no thanks for sitting at 40 holding loads of cars up the police where always happy for trucks to ‘make progress’ as long (as you wasn’t being silly) as it stops a the cars over taking as much. I once got stopped by a police biker making for a bit too much progress on the 140 one day but he was more bothered about me not noticing him behind me for a Cpl of miles than the speed, pulled me over and gave me a telling off about not using my mirrors.
I actually survived my drive down this Infamous A140 yesterday, I wasn’t looking for thanks from the car drivers & I wasn’t going to Trust a Coppers judgement on wether or not he was going to nick me for doing 50 on the S/C bits, the laws the law & making ‘Normal Progress’ in a HGV is 40 mph.
I know it’s slow on certain stretches of road, maybe they could have a sign that says ‘HGV 50’ on certain stretches of road- for example the A5, there’s load of nice wide straight bits where you can do 50 without any problems, but then where would the 'S’camera vans park where they are guaranteed revenue. Lol.
Drivers doing 40 on a S/C is ok, but only if they do 50 on a D/C!

I usually carry on doing 40 on a D/C for the first few yards & let all the backed up traffic pass, then up to 50 & if anyone is struggling to catch me ie a fully freighted wagon I will slow down to let them go.
(Just in case anyone starts whining that I’m an inconsiderate driver)

Apart from stonam I’m not sure I’ve seen a camera van on that road . Yes I know the law is 40 and there are plenty of differences of opinion on here over that but on that road high 40s seems to keep the cars content for them not to embark on suicide missions to get past
I saw one in the little lay-by just before Humphries entrance, but there are plenty of places for them to lurk.
