The scania [ex john hogan]was sold by moody to billy@ mactrans in scotland,i bought it august,it now does regular dutch and spanish work, tautliner is an ex bradley international from ireland which i have had refurbed before collection.the mercedes mentioned is nothing to do with me i have and only will ever have one motor after bad experiences in the past, anyway enough about that photos look great and really make all effort worthwhile, just thought it might keep you in the picture, truck based in west yorkshire now,all the best.

Great pics - This is one of John Hogan’s old 580’s which formerly pulled containers from Felixstowe, sold by Moodys:

seen here before being sold. Wonder who runs it now, still on UK plates…

that motor is in DESPERATE need of some side-skirts mate!
You’re right there Kindle, but do you remember when all those motors had HUGE tanks on them, there would have been no room for side skirts! If I remember, that one had rectangular shaped tanks the size of a domestic oil tank slung on the sides!! I reckon they were changed over when sold. I might have a pic somewhere of that one in original state…
PS Scaniaireland’s photobucket account has crumbled under the volume of pictures by the looks of it!!

hi kindle you are right in saying that about side skirts but odd wheelbase and scania in leeds are just not interested in fitting genuine parts, spoke to several companies about copies but only one in northampton spoke any sense.however possibility that truck may be sold tomorrow and being replaced with 6x2 left ■■■■■■,hope i find a black one or i’ll have to change trailer again!like matchin outfits and good kit, wish it mattered to people who give out work instead of giving work to lowest bidder sometimes makes you wonder why you even try especially when you see state of some of eastern euro yikyaks loading with you really winds you up.

Alan, have you any more pics of this unit with/without trailer you can post? It’s a great looking combination. Keep us up to date if you decide to change it!!

Been to see guy today about buying it and he offered me some better work so with any luck be able to keep it.if i do having bicooler and sideskirts done and then liveried up,will keep you posted,as far as pictures go setting off to valencia in morning try and get you some nice picures then, although it won’t have my trailer on,thank you for good comments do really try and keep on top after all it’s my living and if you gonna do it do it right.hopefully things might work out and scania can stay with us,fantastic machine and credit to former owners, hogan and mactrans, must admit fits me like an old glove and boy does it go well, shame such a thing as drivers’ hours cos it’s sort of motor you just want to drive and drive and drive…always been able to find big engined motors and i suppose been lucky enough to work for myself most of my driving time, must admit never been one for expensive motors always tried to go for high spec but “more value for money” but took the plunge this time, gettin older now and would rather be on the road earnin than be in workshop spendin, got unit at home now will take some photos and try and get them on here before i leave tomorrow.all the best al.
were have all the pics gone off the best thread on here…

mine does it because i have too many pictures in there, so they want me to upgrade to pro and pay, so i just set up another account! (im too hard up to be spending money on photobucket!) although he may have deleted the pictures from the account
