Whats your other drive/ride?

put it this way a bog standard 2 door mk1 or 2 in need of a full resto is making anything from £1000 to £2500 and that is rough as :open_mouth: lucky i got a 2 door mk1 tax exempt tucked away for a rainy day ! :sunglasses: so a half decent one non rs you are talking 4 to 5 k a rs is a lot more again

Nothing special, but it gets me to work and back and where i want to go, and will get me my no claim bonus to bring insurance down.

The power lump

Not the best pictures but if you see me about give us a flash.
Ive got a “Boss of Gloss” sticker on my back window and a “Wax my Ride” sticker on the rear passenger window :sunglasses:
Had it a couple of months, i like to keep it abit clean

if i wash our car and bike can we go to sherburn daddy?

mexicostids:
heres my mk2 mexico , did a full restoration on it & its now running a 2.1 & five speed box ,lsd etc etc :grimacing:0

Very nice, many years ago I had a Vista orange P reg Mexico MK1,great motor. But,calm down now, that was followed by an ex Mikkola MK11 Gp4 BDG in forest spec.Smiles for miles that could not be beaten, ended it’s “real” life roof first into a tree on the Isle of Wight before being re-shelled.Now the reg is on one of Mark Solloway’s cars.

How you going to get a no claims bonus when photo 1 looks like you’ve run over a school kid and the contents of his satchel are still in front of the motor. Remove the evidence quick…

Just a pic of my daily runner (Focus) My Vintage tractor which I’m restoring oh and my old ■■■■■■ Van which has never ever let me down but chassis needs bit of welding for MOT so it’s off the road

I gave him a lighter and some sweets and told him to keep quiet
To be honest, the school kid probably ran into it, because it cant get up to any speed to actually catch someone up.
60mph come eventually, and driving at 70mph means you can see the petrol gauge go down :open_mouth:

At least it’s not one of those horrible 3 cylinder jobs

picked this up last week, it replaced a 51 plate mg zr

My two Saab 9-5’s.
Silver one is a standard Hot Aero I bought at the end of November.
Ive started playing with it but still got alot to do to him yet.
Black one is a tuned mental case of a car!

Is that the dodgy beige colour aka panacotta or are my eyes deceiving me?

what power is the black one running, looks absolutly mental.

Hi Gogzy.

The Black one was running 282bhp at the wheels (410NM’s) pushing 1.4bar of boost, but is poorly sick with busted big end shells on cylinder 2 at the moment.
All my own fault for doing speed trials in it, revs to high, oil to hot/thin = goosed big ends.
Scored the crank all to heck so thats going to be a summer fix if I can be bothered with it.
Its not megga power by any means but we had to turn down the torque requests in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear to stop the front wheels spinning.
Trouble with the 9-5’s is the bottom end, they wont cope with much more than 300bhp so stage 3 (about 290bhp) is about the max on standard engine internals.
Us Saabers usually fit the bottom end from a 1994 onwards Saab 9000 Aero as the lumps, pistons & rods are much stronger & can cope with much more power.
Theres a few stage 5’s & even stage 7’s running around.
Ive got a 9000 Aero engine here Im working on but dont know which car to drop it into when its finished yet.
The black one has won the best in its group for three years running at the Saab Owners Clubs national meets, & it looks the part too but the silver one is a better car so Im undecided as what to do as yet.

The silver one is standard at the moment so its running around 242bhp, not for long though.

Johno1 I’d love to uprate my 9-5 but tbh I ain’t got the first clue what I’m doing plus it needs the turbo looked at aswell as remap but I think it’s running about 200bhp, Mayby less,
My dad has a 9000 aero but it’s a bit sick right now, won’t run for more than 10/15 mins before it cuts out.

I’m after a toy to go drifting in so I’m after a BMW 325 estate or something similar, been tempted by a 540 estate but the running costs would be huge especially tyres.
