What's the worst lorry related accident you've had?

5th dau as on o/d, numpty in Ford Fiesta decided to go straight on, instead of turning as I was coming round the bend.

Big bang, broke my steering. Hit tree. Off road for three weeks. See here for full story.

I have been very fortunate not to have had many accidents (that’s asking for it) but the worst thing that happened to me was was back in 1977, I was recently back from Kuwait and doing a bit of casual for Harry Norton,I was to collect a flatbed loaded with steel from Fleetwood docks one Monday 0600hrs but the trailer had been dropped too low and I could not get under it so I phoned HQ and hapless fitter was dispatched forthwith with trolley jack (I bet your ahead of me now) sure enough I awoke in the ambulance with a jack handle shaped indentation behined my left ear, jaw broken in three places and cheek bone shatterred, while waiting in A&E for the surgeon the morphine I had been given caused me to vomit violently trapping a nerve in the back of my neck and paralysing me completeley down my left side, as a result of a brilliant surgeon and fabulous NHS care I made a 95% recovery, I still carry a couple of reminders.

Happy New year to all

John

Was mentioned in despatches over this mishap, well Sally traffic,or whatever it was called back in 1986

Brief synopsis.
Heading across from Grimsby, possibly A46, and following a car for many miles.
Car decided to pull into garage forecourt,no problem, however another car trying to get out.
Bish…Bosh…6 points and nuts fine.

The railway wagon springs were just stood upright on top of the barrels.
And as the trailer was sealed I had no idea how it had been loaded.
