i have been a daf man for a while now, and have driven and slept in most of the others, and i still prefer my daf over the others, scanias hurt my back, volvo loose a lot of storage space the way the cab rakes back, and, well i would rather walk than have a renault to be honest. not that the daf doesnat have faults, a lot of blindspots, an exhaust brake that just seems to make a noise (one thing the scania excels in is the exhaust brake, and volvos engine brake can almost throw you out the seat, they are really good too), but i still find the daf best for living in, i dont think you can beat the bunks in them for sleeping (and i do a lot of that!!)

strallis every time …tybernie
Me too.
Merc Actros never driven a Daf and have never had the privilage of working for a firm which entertains the Stralis on their fleet.
FFS people give Scanny a break, whenever he posts ANYTHING there is some who just cant wait to put the boot in.Obviously lacking in self-esteem themselves or something else lacking in their lives maybe:roll: I can understand some ■■■■ taking but some of it is just underlying nastiness
Actually now i’ve found out that Blue Peter rigged the vote for the cats name and i voted for that too, i’m not sure i could ever vote again and trust the result. Thats scarred me, mentally !!!
What’s the problem with Renaults? Only drove a premium a couple of times two years ago (Aggregates from Tickhill near Donny) seemed ok apart from the battery dying. I’ve heard they are/were underpowered.

i used one on bulk, fortunalty on day work, and i dont think i have ever driven something that was so underpowered!! i also had a rental one earlier in the year (thanks slayer ) and i found it very uncomfortable to live in, and bugger all storage too, them seats are hard as nails, and the bunk wanst much better, i was very releived to get out of it. we have 1 magnum on our fleet, which is an 02 plate, and its nothing but trouble, there is always something going wrong with it.
Sound like they need to do what Iveco did and reinvent themselves.
I want a Volvo 630 next time,with a ■■■■■■■ ISX engine
1st Choice : ERF E10 nice old comfy wagon, everything works, nothing goes wrong.
2nd choice : Scania R Series, nice drive.
Last Choices : any IVECO or Merc
My Citroen Berlingo, coz it gets me home every night to my own bed.
The Premium isn’t as bad now as it’s supposed to have a Volvo engine in it,but a few years ago when Renault were guaranteeing the fuel consumption, they de-tuned the 420 to a 380,as we had 30 of them where I worked at the time, all on 53 plate.
And I must say, that aside from the lack of power, they weren’t that bad.
Ken.
