I’ve never really liked RDC work, so only do it when I can’t find anything better. I’ve found I can only do a few nights of night trucking, don’t mind the work, but I rally struggle to sleep during the day, so just get to tired. I would also say agency work, but i was working for an agency when I got to work for the USAF out of Mildenhall, one of the most interesting jobs I’ve ever had.
Pretty much do any sort of haulage, they all have their good and bad points, and sometimes an unpromising job can turn out to be quite good, even if its just because the people you work with or for turn out to be a good bunch.

Livestock, Bidvest and Earthline…
And Smiffs.
Now you know I work for Bidvest
Heard too many horror stories. I like restaurant deliveries as worked for Fresh Direct via agency. It was mostly in London around 1am I saw the poor Bidvest drivers struggling/rushing around with their boxes practically loaded to bursting point. Crazy they got rid of the drivers’ mates (several of them went to Fresh Direct and they’re spot on blokes.
One of the best jobs I ever had involved 5x differant routes, 1 for every day of the week, with regular Monday & Thursday nights out. Bliss.
There is no job I won’t try once, there’s one or two I don’t want to experience again, but for me the single thing that stops me returning to some of my past jobs is the people. If I ever felt I was being took for or treated like a labia, I walked.
I did a load of vegy waste it looked like sick and smelt worse, it leaked out the back doors ,and when opening the first door the catch broke on the other and they jamed half open ,i climbed along the top rail and unbolted the top catch and ended up in it up to my waist, had to chuck my clothes and boots drive back naked i smelt for days.

Hmm, hard to say what I wouldnt want to do…theres so much!certainly bulk refuse, skips , livestock, and those smelly sealed tippers you see around london that carry butchers waste
But I can tell you what my ideal work would be but that would need to be in a ‘Fantasy job’ style thread
Yeh. In my case, it would probably involve transporting a mixture of bedding, alcoholic beverages, all expenses paid with by ‘double-manned partner’ being this lass,
not really any job i wouldnt do guess, car transporters i wouldnt go out my way to do. i take my hats of to you guys who do drive them.
cattle stock wouldnt be a problem, i was posted to canada for 6 months in my army days, was used to waking up with a few heifers
Elsan truck, now that’s a ■■■■■■ job!!
Witnessed an infamous incident in Derby many years ago when a new recruit went out with the regular driver and set the pump to blow rather than ■■■■!!
