the only way he could afford it would be if he was a limper, and then it wouldnt matter about the price in relation to the earnings, plus if he was still drunk he could just tell them he wasnt in the mood and just take the day off, then decide as and when to start again.
apparently thats what you can do when your working with agencies.
i dont know whats the sadder of the two aspects here.
the op having such a poor attempt at trolling,or the replies that take it seriously…

Whether this is a troll or not is almost irrelevant to be fair. We’ve all encountered drivers who keep a crate of ale in their cabs for while they’re away. Sure, they might not drink 10-12 cans a night, but even if they have 4-6, they would still risk being over the limit when they start the following morning.

and how many of them would yo to the bother and expense of buying breathalysers of their own free will.?
anyone drinking and driving does so when their either ok in their own opinion,or dont care.
my mates idea of a normal weekend evening is to drink 2 barrack busters of cider with 2 or 3 doobies the size of drainpipes then just drives off home again ripped out of his ■■■■.
he is just one of the many that dont care.

I’m going to assume this guy is drinking 4-6 cans a night. He was probably looking to find a breathalyser fairly cheaply so he could discreetly test himself in the morning, hoping that he would be under or close to the limit. Sounds better to phone the office and say you’ve started an hour later because you over slept instead of waiting to be legal to drive.

Yeh we have encounterd them, but why imply a negative attitude of irresponsibility toward all of them, and tarring them with the same brush as the o/p (genuine or otherwise)
By the same token rather than have 10 to 12 or even 4 to_6 he could be just as likely to have an unwinding refreshing bottle at the end of a shift, or while watching tv, and/or a bottle or even 2 with the in cab meal he has just prepared…just as you me and everybody else would very likely do at home…ie tramper’s truck = tramper’s home.
Nothing wrong with that despite the hysterical purist’s attitudes and opinions.

there are none so blind…
read his previous posts regarding “his mate” and trolling, coupled with the lack of reply on here.
troll,or alcoholic is the only eqo options there.
if its a genuine post, then off to A.A. and get sorted out…personally,il just stick to a very poor attempt at trolling pish whilst being amazed at anyone else taking it seriously.
theres no probs drinking during your 11 yours off or having a cpl beers with your tea before a kip…that would be normal for many.

Fair comment DD, either the o/p is on a wind-up or he is genuinely stupid enough to admit on a public forum that he is basically a ■■■■ head driving a truck.
Whichever is true it’s still a subject (in general terms) worthy of discussion I reckon.

I’m not tarring them all with the same brush, I’m just saying that we know they’re out there. There’s nothing wrong with having a drink or two.
Drink driving is something I take very seriously, and I have good reason for doing so. My brother crashed his car while almost twice the legal limit. He had been out with his mates on a night out celebrating his birthday and was on his way home. He died instantly and was only 19.
I’ve seen the devastation that drink driving causes so I disdain anyone who is selfish enough to put themselves or others at risk, and I feel that as professional drivers we carry an additional responsibility to ensure we are safe and legal, as in most instances, we will come off a lot better than anything we hit as a result of driving while intoxicated.

As I said earlier, whether this is a troll or not is practically irrelevant. Drink driving is a topic that I take seriously, for reasons outlined in another post.
I have no problem with safe and responsible drinking. Hell, I used to have a beer on the odd occasion I used to do nights out.
But ■■■■■■■■■ like this (if true) have no place on the roads. Surely that’s something we all agree on?
To be honest you will never beat my wife, well maybe with 10 pints of Stella you might do.
But my beloved is absolutely spot on as a Breathalyzer. When I come home she immediately tells me I’m ■■■■■■ and then goes on to tell me exactly how many I have had. If I say I’ve only had 6 pints, she re-calibrates and says you’ve had 8, when I check my wallet, she is normally correct.
If I’d drunk that many cans of wife beater in one go driving the next morning would be the least of my worries. I’d more than likely still be getting a kicking from the 20 or so fellas I’d offered outside for looking at me funny!
