Any road I havent been on before
But in particular…
From Thurso around the north and west coasts via Tongue and Unapool to Skye
The Norwegian coast road all the way from Bergen to Nordkapp.
Pacific Coast Highway.
Garden Route in South Africa from Durban to Cape Town.
I can see a bit of a theme creeping in here what is it with coast roads ?
Ive done the Rijeka-Dubrovnik road many times during the mid 90s when we had the contract for resupplying the army during the Balkan War. It wasnt so good then, very scenic but also a bit dodgy with bombed out buildings , craters, and temporary bridges. Id like to go back again someday.

I’ve been quite fortunate to drive on some amazing roads ( car only) but what road anywhere would you love to drive on either by truck, car, bike etc ? I really want to do the coast road all the way down California I think its the Cabrillo Highway.
This’ll do me. Northbound on the Route 5 across the Atacama desert, Chile, towards the Peruvian border.
The road of bones

Russia if I remember correctly but I’d want something easier and more relaxing
from the uk, across russia, across the baring strait, into alaska, canada, through the united states, and maybe into mexico.
in a truck with the missus.
I would like to do an empty circuit of the M25, starting at the tolls after the bridge and going clockwise in a Buggati Veyron. I wonder what the record for getting round the whole thing and back over the bridge through the toll barrier as your finish line is? Would need bigger tanks on the Veyron though as it would probably not make it or you would need to fill up at South Mimms!
I’ve done the California coast road from LA to San Francisco and it sure is amazing. Lots of roads I’d love to drive. A dream since I was a kid has been to drive to Monholia. I’d also love to cross the Khyber Pass, but thats probably not advisable right now. One day I’d also like to drive the full length of Africa. And the Pan American highway. Is it pan American or Trans American? Can’t quite do the full length of it though as the Darian Gap gets in the way

If you ever do this and you should because it’s incredible get the ferry from Bødo to the Lofoten Islands. It’s the most incredibly beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Genuinely breathtaking.
P.s if you do do it take something more reliable than an elderly VW camper van, it’s a flooking long way for such an old lady!

Why do it in a camper when you can drive a truck. Speed limits are to slow for a car but with a truck, my good it’s fun without braking the law
Light load, max 10t and your set.

Alas just a pipe dream for me at the moment until i find gainful employment once again, please feel free to post up some photos of your trip upon your return,it would make a good photo diary.
I know its off topic, but its a trip Ive been planning for a long time as part of my bucket list, I
ve working on the details to get the route perfect in Mapsource, all the hotels etc are booked.
The trip will be a 3 week solo venture that I`m undertaking on my motorbike, rolling off the hull-Zeebrugge ferry on 2nd July, a steady 353 miles down autoroutes to Beze for the 1st night, then Annecy, - Briancon (11 passes) & briancon - Nice (6 passes) via the RN. Then across to corsica on the 7th for 6 days riding the various mountain passes, before departing corsica on the 12th via the Bastia - Livorno ferry and across to pisa/florence, then a blast up to riva del garde via marrinello, then ride from Riva to Naunders ( taking in Crocedomeni, Gavia passes & Stelvio pass (West > East). Then the next day Back up to the top of Stelvio (east > West) we then take a right over Umbrail pass, then over Ofenpass & Fluelapass before heading to arosa for the night. The next day will take in Andermatt, Interlaken, Oberalp, (a rtn loop to take in) St. Gottardo, Furka and Grimsel passes, ending the day by the Eiger at Grindelwald. The following days will see me riding through the black forest towards Munster (FR), & the Vosages & staying at combles, then the final leg back towards Zeebrugge will go via Ypres to stop at the menin gate. a total round trip of around 2500 miles, there are only 2 day that are non riding days, 1x corsica & 1x Grindelwald. All the others will involve around avg 250 miles a day and 6-9hrs in the saddle.
I have 2 Gopro HD2 Hero motorsport cameras specifically for the trip and expect to shoot around 1Tb of raw video, it will probably take me several weeks to edit it into useable chunks to upload to youtube

What?! How many reasons do you want? I don’t own a truck, if I did I couldn’t afford the fuel, I work for a company that doesn’t go up there, if I did it was a holiday anyway. I’m sure I’ll think of more…
