What is this all about , sat nav related

Like I need…

A Sat-nav to get south or north of the river.

There’s a saying in the Tech world.
Any device is only as good as the information punched in by the idiot operator.

Or take your pick of these well known error codes

PEBKAC problem exists between keyboard and chair
PEBCAK problem exists between chair and keyboard
PEBMAC problem exists between monitor and chair
ID-10T/1D-10T idiot error
PICNIC problem in chair, not in computer
IBM error idiot behind machine error

peirre:
Try changing the settings so it isnt set to avoid tolls. Though if your going via the Woolwich ferry dont forget to get your stash from the duty free shop

And don’t forget to check for those pesky stowaways from foreign parts, like Luton and Milton Keynes!

Everyone keeps going on about tolls , but it goes over the bridge fine , it will route you up the m6 toll fine , so I can’t see how it’s tolls , what does what look like a pedestrian on screen mean ? I’ve never seen that other than dart ford tunnels
As I say if it was tolls it wouldn’t route you over dart ford bridge / m6
Look at the ■■■■■■■ screen , it’s showing a image of a person , that has to be something to do with it but what !!!

Yes that’s the machine codes, I was referring to,but I didn’t want to over tech speak the post,as the OP might get information overload…

The OP gets information overload if you use any four or more letter words frankly

1 lane in the tunnels has a weight restriction,my trucknav wont send me through unless i set it at less than 7.5 ton.

I’m not seeing that , why would it show what can best be described as a pedestrian if it was weight related , but I will try it as have dartford tunnels tomorrow

All turned down so will see what it does tomorrow weight wise

Here’s a slightly off-the-wall suggestion dozy - Why not simply ask Snooper support (via their ever-so-helpful website) why you are seeing this/what the issue is? ISTR you having issues with a TomTom unit a few years ago routing you all round the houses at Melton Mowbray. I told you how to fix it, but your response was instead to return the thing (and presumably use the Snooper instead).

The photo you have posted is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

It wasn’t routing me round the houses at Melton it was turning right at Waltham on the wolds down a 7.5t limit instead of going Melton / Leicester etc , the snooper goes Melton / Leicester so I believe I made the right decision
It’s not a problem with the dart ford tunnels , I’m just intrigued what that picture of a pedestrian )( looks like one ) is all about
I’ve taken on board the suggestions on here though I can find nothing about tolls on settings / configure & to be honest it routes you m6 toll / dart ford bridge so I can’t see it’s that , weight , possibility so I’ve altered settings & will see what happens tomorrow
If not I’ll ring snooper

Yes your right , but I grew up in 70,s / 80,s where if you had something to say it was with your fists not words , my youth was fighting , ■■■■■■ up , cells , shagging , not much
Time for learning , though I did manage to pass a aprentiship , though It was more to do with I was good in workshops than classroom
Luckily for me my wife is very intelligent , other than marrying me ( should of listened to her mum who told me at church it was the worst day in her life , her daughtet marrying me ) so anything , Job applications / letters , she does them for me
Anyway less of me , with your iq being 3/4 times mine , & you can spell & string a sentence together what do you do as a job ? I’m just a lorry driver !!!

Doesn’t that defeat the point of having a truck sat nav

Your mother in law is obviously a very intelligent woman!

Our transport manager would be clicking his pointy shoes together if he saw that sat nav 'obscuring the windscreen '.

You’ve quoted three different people Dozy, who are you most upset by?

Personally I was replying to Big Griffin’s comment and not specifically having a go at you, though you do regularly get shed-loads of stick from quite a few forum contributors so I would have thought you’d be immune by now.

I don’t see what your point is about when you grew up, for me that was the 60’s and 70’s, sure there was drinking and fighting, but for 90% of us, there was more to us than just being a juvenile delinquent. We all got it drilled into us that we had to “stick in at school” or we’d get caned etc, and when we all went on to do apprenticeships we were expected to “stick in at college” when on day-release or we’d get grief from the gaffers when we were back at work.

As for “I’m just a lorry driver…” the old “all lorry drivers are thick” cliche; it might have been true once upon a time I suppose, but that simply isn’t true anymore.

I know quite a few lorry drivers who have some significant achievements under their belt, quite a few with a university education, including at least one with a PhD, not to mention at least two former airline pilots. As for me, I drive Class 1s and 2s, ADR and general haulage, as well as being a qualified Transport Manager and DGSA.
