What has changed your generation

A distinct lack of morals, ethics, parenting ability, work ethic and standards in general. Everything seems to have been dumbed down to suit - even education. And while I’m at it no one is teaching the ‘how to use a toilet’ thing anymore!!!

Precisely, complete lack of tolerance and dignity. ‘We’ appear to have spawned a society that expects everything laid on a plate, folk (often young) that mug pensioner’s, attack teacher’s, plus the easy availability nowadays of hard drugs that bring grief on society in general and individuals in particular. Technology is expanding at a rapid pace but the human animal is steadily returning to the morals of Neanderthal Man and it isn’t pretty. What’s the answer, haven’t got the foggiest I’m afraid.

Santa that’s not what I had in mind what I had in mind was things that changed how you went on or changed the world

Eg for my generation 9/11 changed air travel dramatically (not starting a who done what and why just saying this changed air travel by tightening security)

9/11 changed security for most for a long time, but is lapsing now, American airline security has always been lapse compared to British, my very first flight across the Atlantic was in July 1992, police in Gatwick carried machine guns even then, the luggage was properly searched as were we. In May 2001 my niece came over here on a visit, she flew on Continental to Newark, when we took her back I was shocked that at terminal ‘C’ we could all walk down to the gate with her without even being checked, at terminal ‘B’ which was run by BAA and used by European airlines such as Virgin and BA etc security was very tight, nobody other than the passengers were allowed near the gates.
Now we hear that for a $17.00 fee passengers can forego the strict searches and use express boarding, why don’t we just tell the terrorists to pay the $17.00 and they are in the pink

I don’t know Pat. Just come home from visiting my son, daughter in law, and grandson. The security in the regional airport was relaxed, as in polite and courteous, but O’Hare in Chicago was bureaucratic quicksand. We checked in at Grand Rapids and, because we were not leaving the airside, checked through but the “customer service adviser” at the Chicago gate was quite abrupt when I didn’t have my visa check done before arriving at the gate (like UK citizens have to have a visa to enter the UK). Turned out that everyone at that CSAs gate has to have documents checked irrespective of any previous check through (same airline BTW).

There is to many people in jobs that are way beyond their capabilities and they are not prepared to take the responsibility that goes with the position which they hold and try move the blame for their ■■■■ ups onto anyone else except themselves
cheers Johnnie

Sebastian Coe is about to take over the BBC. He will be replacing the former governor of Hong Kong.

We pay taxes and TV licences.

And we don’t even get the Radio 1 roadshow anymore.
