Definitely don’t polish anything attached to the truck.

I had a hellish 45 minutes at Burtonwood on the M62 the other day. Hot outside, cab stuffy, sweat pouring from every orifice. Ended up sat in the outdoor seating area of the service area surrounded my smokers and old folk… I have never willed 45 minutes to be over quick enough.
Usually though i’ll phone the girlfriend then sit doing a crossword/wordsearch/whatever with a brew… like to think it keeps the brain active.
Depending on tinternet connection…■■■ sites with tissues in hand
Im a napper, 45mins does me so when i get home at 9am i can do stuff instead of crashing out but also watch youtube another one is youtube on fire all new films
Cup of Tea, walkround a bit and a smoke, another cup of tea- on here for some light trolling then another ■■■, do some paperwork then times up.
Longer breaks or delays its usually same as above with some light ■■■■ and a bit of creative masterbation…
Sleep read a good book or be on the phone to someone ( yep can have long calls btw & there free )
m1cks:
I download TV mini series to my tablet. Most are 42 minutes long (1 hour minus the commercials) I only watch them at work which means I’m not sat in front of the TV at home when I’m with the family.
This
Or grab some kip
Eat
Make a brew
Clean the cab
All like that really
Go for a walk, have a poke nose about, jog, use the lorry as your gym pull ups from suitable grab handles, have a wander about clocking totty, or blokes if thats your thing.
Now the weathers nice, get your deck chair out, sit out in the sunshine and sunbathe or read a book for an hour.
Anything to get out of the poxy tin can for a while before you melt into it and become part of it.
You can’t be working hard enough if you get bored on a 45
Zanfta:
Mostly loading/unloading.
I preffer to take my brake when I want to and where I want to.
I know. Illegal. But more handy to me because I never know what’s the distance to my next loading/unloading place. So have plenty of driving time and can stop for a meal where I like to rather desperate for emty lay by.
(BTW get paid breaks)
Thats fair enough buddy ,you crack on , you are talking bollox
Greg Blackburn:
I will start getting paid mine soon tooI just get so bored of been sat about when I could be getting dun 45 mins earlierand getting home I download a new game nearly everyday for summet to do soon App Store will have no games lol
You are in the wrong job
I HATE the 45 minutes. Personally, I prefer to get the 15 in early morning, it’s not much but it only leaves half hour which doesn’t seem quite so bad. I have been known to drive to collection point and use the half hour getting loaded and strapped but I have recently heard that if VOSA catch you messing with straps whilst on break, they will have you for it.
How true is that?
Otherwise, it’s a quiet layby, ring mrs, have a brew, have half a sandwich on rare occasions and just wish the time away.
Does anybody else find that they don’t really want dinner whilst they are out and about? I only ask because I can’t eat breakfast without feeling sick and I rarely eat dinner, which means the mrs has a field day when I bring home the dinner that I should have eaten the day before
Anyways, back to the topic, dusting, cleaning, brushing wagon, anything to pass the booooring time!
dusting, cleaning, brushing wagon
Not wishing to be pedantic, but this is “other work”. Stick to the brew and sarnie.

Er, very true. You are committing the offence of falsifying tacho records. It’s a criminal offence for which you can be heavily fined or even imprisoned for and I ain’t joking.
Quick catch up on Facebook then Netflix or iPlayer.
Remember to set 46 min count down timer in case you doze off
