What did you learn this week?

I learnt that failing your Class 1 can be an expensive experiance

i learnt that no matter how sunny a morning,
no matter how free of traffic the road is,
no matter how few jobs you have to do that day,
no matter how happily you are singing along to the radio…

one phone call from the office shags it all up :imp:

no matter how hard we try to spot you,you CANT,

when reading the route manifest,YOU must read between the drops for the hidden ones ,and the collections that wasnt there, when you left the depot.

that it is possible to finish before 6pm on a friday.

and start later than 4 AM on monday

I’ve leant never trust a polish driver, out of the wollies yard in swindon
then the wrong way up the A419 (dual carriageway) against on coming
traffic. old bill on the scene, huge tin open worms everyehere

1 how much i have had the pi** taken out of me work wise for the last 3 years without realising ( highbridge flyer was right , sorry )

2 how easy it is to throw a washing machine from the front of a artic to the tail lift
and how easy it to empty a full artic new washers at speed

i learnt that parkin on a main road in woodbridge waitin to get tipped only gets u rude insults from impatient car drivers,

i also learnt when u get sent out with 6 drops in stevenage and milton keynes and they say a day run that u actual have to get the drops done and night out instead off infuratin the tm by makin 1 drop and return to base with 5 still on and insistin they said day run. doesn’t make life easy for next week. oooops

I learnt that admitting to the big boss that you’ve just about cracked that last big project he gave you . . . . . . . . . . . . will mean that you’ll get given two more with even shorter deadlines, while he casually glosses it over with something mumbled to the effect of "yeah, I knew you’d sort that one but these will be a bit more ‘in-depth’ . . . . . . . "

Me and my gullible big gob!! :unamused: :unamused:

That Garath Barry is the answer too Englands prayers

I learned that when you put both our cats in one cat carrier, the small cat projectile vomits over the other one… lovely :imp: :imp: Sorry Jess

At work I learned how little there is to do - back for 8.35 on a 6am start !

Lucy, if your lot are still delivering our steel, can you drop some into Sheffield as there are some very bored drivers with very clean lorries

I learned that Nottingham is on the way to Hull from Halifax…honest!
Well thats what I was told…and who am I to argue.

jonboy:
my traffic planner has got no clue and he thinks that it will take 3 1/2 hours to get from wiverliscombe (spelling) to bridgewater :smiling_imp: a journey that took less then that after i went and did wincanton and zeals in between. :sunglasses:

jon

Wiveliscombe

Bridgwater

about 20 miles apart

I’ve learned that bribing the shippers’ loading staff with bacon and egg sandwiches only increases their efforts ,on my behalf ,for one load.

I learned DEFRA can cause havoc with your cash flow . again !

I also learned that when foot & mouth buggers things up Livestock buyers are your best friends (hic!)- cos they ring you a couple of times a day just to make sure you haven’t found something else to do and you will still be there when restrictions are lifted, won’t you !

i also learned giving £3.99 to the cashier in sedgemoor services gets you some pink fluid that removes the severn crossing flies that have been annoying Gardun all week

i learnt that after punctures, old men swerving into me in cars and even driving a truck with no breaks NOTHING can make you swerve about lane 1 like an angry wasp in the cab.

dont rise to the smart alec, s . theyll trip over themselfs eventually.
dont start smashing things if the arguments with your girls not going your way as replacement mobiles arnt cheap.
