Looks like this has the experts baffled, like I said its on all the wheels of our new MAN,s .

pretty sure this is only something for production. When moving the truck around before the final wheels are mounted (i.e. paint shop etc) they mount wheels with only 2 studs/nuts to save time. they are probably then high tensile strength for that reason, extra load / safety. After the production line i can’t think of any other benefit other than a marker for the tyre man but no truck manufacturer is really going to do this for their benefit :smiley:

Might just be something MAN does, our new Volvo’s don’t have this so presume its as said especially if they are marked with a higher tensile rating, to allow movement of rolling chassis without all the nuts being fitted, no point in taking them out once the final build is done. Franky.
