WH Malcolm to fit driver facing cameras

I’ve always thought this very forum itself could provide a tentative step to forming a union,we know the intellectual infrastructure is there with several of our august bretheren. How difficult could it be to launch the TNUK union?

Any union movement, by it’s very nature, can only be successful if its members stick together. And for that, the members have to BE together. Organising a factory, or bus depot, is easy, because all employees are together. Theres power, andsecurity in numbers. Most truck drivers spend their time alone, mostly away from home. Making major statements, or even parking up, when you’re alone, is very, very difficult.
Unless we create a violent but influential union like the American Hamsters, with a strict “not a member, not a job”, and a “no union representation, no drivers” attitude, we’ll never get a successful union, such as the RMT…

That would be some union you would have to have some muscle to run it
Trying to keep everybody in line from not doing stuff that there not suppose to do
If only

Being web connected binds us,dont see a great need to be in one place tbh.At least a feasibility study could fulfil the requirements, basic explorations type of thing,It could evolve in time to agency territory, take the fight to the enemy.God knows there’s a flat out need right now to right the many wrongs which are persistently heading, distinctly south.

It’s not the connectedness that is the problem. It’s the individual, alone, somewhere in the country, having to make the decision to park up the truck. Or on their own, at 0300 in the morning, on their own, deciding not to take the truck out of the yard. And losing their wages, possibly their home, with no knowledge of the next driver is doing the same, or if the next driver is going to work instead…
If you are together with all your colleagues, as factories and bus and train depots are, it’s a lot easier.
