Dave the Renegade:

Looks like another Shropshire Foden here. Might need a bit of input from atkidave on this one.

ex Jabez Barker timber tractor, was restored by Lionel Amos. Similar to Les Morgan’s ex B & J Davies DG6/10 except this is a genuine Foden timber tractor, where as B & J Davies converted FAW 671(previously GNT 622).

Another local old one. Drag behind this one.

hiya,
No John woulnd’nt mind a below bumper matching pair of fog and spot lights just in case i’ve got to take her on nights, i think all those silly lights which are illegal if used as an aid to illumination spoil the appearance of a motor and what’s the point of those air horns when the factory fit a perfectly good one a waste of money and carrying capacity, now who said miserable old git.
thanks harry long retired.

Hello Dave,
This “ERF” - EDE 920L originally had a Bulk Blower body,- the flat bed was fitted after retirement.
The one driver ? drove it from new,- his wife was in the passenger seat nearly every day. They always waved at me - when I met them on the road. Allan Spillet did a painting of this ERF and ( yes ) she is in the passenger seat. -2005 Calendar.
I missed meeting you at the Carmarthen Show. - Did you take aphoto of Stan Archer’s - Scania. - which is driven by my son Michael. — Many thanks - Hywel Price - Llandovery.

Hello Harry
Yeah I know what your saying about the lights and things, I’m the same you just don’t need it. In the old day’s a heater was good, if the boss gave you a wagon with a heater you were a top man    there you go times change, I must admit if I was 40 odd years younger and still at it, I would be looking for what the young guns have got now.

cheers

John.

Hi Hywel,
I did see Stan Archer’s Scania at the show, but we didn’t get a photo of it, as there were people standing in front of it.We failed to get photo’s of quite a few lorries where the crowds were. We did wait a few minutes in lot’s of cases until there was a gap in the crowd to take a photo.I haven’t got Alan Spillett’s print of the Mansel Davies ERF,but have seen it on the calender you mention which I have got. I think it’s pictured with a Jones of Bethania ERF and called Cardigan Belle’s.
I do see Stan Archers’ timber lorries on the road quite a lot. I did keep an eye out for Alan Spillett, thought he might have been at the show, but didn’t see him.
Cheers Dave.

Another smart looking ERF.

Dave the Renegade:
