Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

Cant think of ever seeing Albert Davies stuff on the road, but it looks some very smart well looked after kit.

I don’t think they ever ventured far out of Shropshire / Mid Wales

That’s it then Trev, that wasn’t a part of the world I was in often, I’m sure I must have seen one at sometime, the old memories not what it was.

Have seen your new moter, parked at your brothers yard when we have passed by on a weekend, nice looking truck,as you probably noticed my remark about Mark Preeddy’s V8 sounding nice, nothing much compares with that sound. Did like the sound of two stroke Foden’s and Commer’s years ago.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave, now thats what I call a smart working lorry,
regards Andrew.

lovely clean motor,no volcano ash on him!  …chris

That load looks as though it is secured by “ROPES” so I reckon that makes it unusual these days and a tidy job to boot

Nice to see a smart motor without all that shiny bling stuff, i don’t even give them a glance, bosses would’nt have allowed it in my day “reduces payload lad”.

Hi Harry,
Can’t imagine Dale’s allowing anything like spotlights etc on their lorries, alays look clean and well maintained. Some of the Leominster members on here will know more about them than me. I would think the one in the pic was on road test with a mechanic, because a couple of minutes after we got the pic the unit went back up towards Leominster.
Cheers Dave.
