Hi Tony,
I think he’s got a licence for 18 and 18 trailers, they alwas sound well when you hear them going past,he must have a few V8’s among them.
Were there many at the sale, didn’t bother to go,we got quite a few pics yesterday around Worcestershire.
Cheers Dave.

Theres no V8’s.Their a mixture of 420’s up to 480.He did buy some with the classic pack, but are alot heavier than a standard truck.
The one that comes into us has been there 20 years,so it must say something about what he’s like to work for.

Cheers
Tonyb

Ps, ive put a thread up on the photo forum, have a look if youve got 5 mins

Cheers
Tony

Cheers Dave.

Hiya Dave who suggested we wern’t patriotic ? You can’t get much more patriotic than running one of these !! All this leyland had done before I bought it was carry racing cycles for a Lancashire wheeler club in a little tilt body which they kept for their new one ! I’ve been reading about the trouble that the Tarmac lads are having with rate reductions that are being imposed on them ! never experienced that myself obviously had a better class of customer !Had plenty of difficult negtiations but always managed to reach an amicable agreement! Cheers Dennis.

Hi Dennis,
Tidy looking lorry. The tarmac situation is something that wouldn’t happen in your type of operation, you sourced your own work. The tarmac subbies are more or less told take it or leave it. Tarmac have the work and dictate the rates,as do the likes of Hanson etc. It shouldn’t be like that, but they know there’s always someone else that will do it for less, you know that this has always happened, they will go on moaning, but nothing will change.
Cheers Dave.

Here’s one for the local members, where’s this one. Answers on a postcard…

Hi Dave, sorry I didnt read the atkidaves answer, but good one about the knoll in the background., just twigged who atkidave is, (sorry atkidave,I should have known shouldnt I, your dad sometimes used to pull our C/F bulker)
Dave Thought that you had been on the bypass, but the old old brain is strarting to shrivel (amongst other things, told the wife that if you dont use it you loose it   ) . The Presteigne ■■■■ fighting pit was from the 18/19th C.,and was a property that was lost, situated at the bottom of Castle rd, in the Knighton direction, always thought that it should have been saved and rebuilt at St Faggans.
Thought you might like a slight change, not a tipper but a loader !.
regards Andrew.

Hi Andrew,
Good pic of loading sraw, your brain ain’t as shriveled as mine, your a loy younger than me. As you say it’s a wonder the ■■■■ fighting pit wasn’t dismantled and taken to St Fagan’s and reassembled.
Cheers Dave.
