Hi Dave , Do you remember Knills of Crossgates , a mate of mine mentioned them recently said they had Albion 6 tippers coal from S Wales ?
I seem to recall them having quite a few cattle boxes , regards Keith .

Yes I remember them well Keith. Bill Knill was sadly killed in a RTA near Presteigne when an artic jackknifed and took the roof off his Jaguar car about 30 years ago. His Sons still run the business, but don’t run transport anymore.
I remember Graham Middleton drove an Albion six wheeler on livestock, he also had one on coal also a variety of others on distance and livestock. He also ran buses and coaches, but had cut down his haulage business and was selling second hand lorries, and was returning from a lorry auction at Measham when he had the tragic accident when the artic coming the other way took him out.

Dave , bit of a sad story there . I can remember Knills having AEC 8 legger stock boxes with cattle to a former abbatoir near Bridgend ,which apparently were ex London brick co . Had RTK on the headboards .
Remember the bus side of the business , had some smart kit ! The former depot i take it is now that housing estate , thanks Dave regards Keith

The houses are where they parked the lorries Keith.The filling station and cafe/shop etc all belong to Knills,also another one in Llandrindod Wells, plus a lot of other property.
