Hi Dave,
Why have C.W Griffiths started buying Scania 8 Wheelers instead of Volvo’s ?

Hi Dave,

Yes Paul has got two of them at the moment. Last time I spoke to him, he still preferred the Volvo’s. Remains to be seen which he buys next.
Cheers Dave.

Cheers Dave.

John Norman’s Mercedes. Probably restored by Alan Coxill.

Retired Old ■■■■:
Aha. There you are, Paul!
That explains it although it was really none of my business. I was in Fairford looking after the sprog’s dogs while she and her family were on yet another exotic holiday. You could have saved yourself a few shillings by staying with me and I could have had a closer look at your superb restoration.
I used to know the Roberts Bros as I worked for a haulier in Ross on similar work with similar kit and recognised the livery as I went for a takeaway.
I would have attended Cerney myself if I’d known it was on!
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity- good to meet you on this page.

hello casey
im guessing you drove for JR at the time?
i would have been about 9 at the time but your name rings a bell
paul

Yep, Paul, two stints at Young George’s then a couple of years at JR’s. Whilst on the bulk tipping theme, I had about 18 traumatic months working for a demented farmer called Stan Pugh. Made me realise that Young George wasn’t so bad after all!
If you frequent Facebook, there is a photo of the B-series I had at JR’s on the “Forest of Dean Hauliers” page.

Another one leaving Kington.

Hi Big Bear,
Just been talking to Paul, he has bought the Scania’s, as the fuel economy is better than the Volvo’s, also the payload is better.
Cheers Dave.
