Last one of fords , this was from devon I think

Hi Dave , I thought it was about time I posted up a few pics , seeing as I allways look at this thead . Keep up the good work it is appreciated :stuck_out_tongue:
Those long logs would be to a sawmill there was about half a dozen different ones we went to .
The first pic up in Scotland the forest was actually owned by a company which was part of kronospan , that went straight in the chipper at chirk although they also have a sawmill which produces pallet wood .
The straw obviously went straight to farm .
I finished working for fords about 6 months ago , am at loosemores now I will post up a few pics from there soon . I see you put a few up from the website a while ago .

Cheers Mike

Yes Mike, I did put some of Loosemores on, which I had off their website. I had a new PC and couldn’t get my own pics to upload. I have it sorted now.
I have a few of Loosemores which we have had ourselves over the years, mainly tippers I think.
Always glad to have other people putting pics on the thread. Grateful to yourself and James JSD for boosting the thread.
Cheers Dave.

Baptism of fire or not that’s a well loaded trailer, can see you’ve loaded the against the pins first. A lot just throw it on and the logs are crossed and sticking out the sides.
Loading against the pins first makes for a safe load and the logs are weighing down. You see some throwing them in middle and chucking more against the side and then battering them down with the grab which soon weakens the pins.

I’d love to take the credit for that load Bri , the guy who was showing me the ropes loaded it , like you say loaded against the pins first , a tidy job . Having never used a log crane or hiab before, I did the unloading and watched and learned the loading positioning of the pins etc …
Sounds like you’ve done some timber haulage Bri,?

Cheers Mike
