Cheers Dave.
R M Woolley from Bucknell in South Shropshire, ran a fair fleet of tankers and other vehicles. John Davies did regular tar runs from Ellsemere Port to Strinds and Leinthall quarries with this Scammell and later artics.
Hi Davs e , Yes the Richardson one ,Cheers Barry
Picture taken at Farthing Corner Services on the M2 some 40 years ago. We used to leave Sun Valley in Hereford at 2 p.m. for a 10 p.m. delivery slot at Marks & Spencers depot at G.L. Bakers in Faversham, stopping firstly at the Windrush up on the Cotswolds for the usual egg, beans & chips, then run through the middle of London (no M25 then), before another quick stop at the services before arriving at G.L. Bakers. Then it would be a night out, either at the services or up to Colnbrook and night out with the Sun Valley guys there. No doubt these days it could be done in one shift, we used to do Fremlins Brewery at Maidstone up & back in a night when I drove for Bulmers 10 years ago.

Sounds as if that was a good job in those days, better days then without the legislation that’s around these days.
Cheers Dave.
I remember John Davies driving this Volvo F88 for Pontrilas, and used to speak to him on the CB regularly.
