Thats the one Dave, used to carry between 12 and 14 ton regular, bit naughty i know but saved you coming back to mill to reload,ta,Pete

You should have had a Constructor Pete.
Cheers Dave.

Could’nt Dave as i was only 18,got my hgv on the young drivers scheme,i had to be 19 for the old class 2,Millers did have constructors but regret never taking any pics, used to take the bison[vda752m] for a spin on saturday afternoon[16yr old]to collect sharps from Smiths flour mills walsall to save my dad doing it,gaffer saw me once on way back thought gonna get sack but all he said on monday was thanks for helping out!!,ta,Pete

I worked for a bloke like that, before I was 21 driving a BMC FG, but he would stick you on anything if he was short of a driver. He wanted me to go on a digger, as he hadn’t a driver for it,said I’ll send you on a course, I said no thanks, I am a lorry driver and don’t want to drive a digger. It did come in handy to use it to load sand out of the yard onto the FG instead of shoveling it on, but that’s as far as my digger driving went.
Cheers Dave.

FLOURPOWER:
BULMERS TK

Another good one FLOURPOWER. The Cttage of Content is at Carey near Ross on Wye,as you probably know.
Cheers Dave.

I’ve had the pleasure of delivering there for Bulmers. From there it was over to the New Harp at Hoarwithy then back to Hereford with the empties. Can’t believe we used to have a free half pint at every pub and still consider ourselves sober enough to drive an HGV home.

I can remember a lot of the draymen having a drink at every pub they delivered to. I wonder do they get any perks these days. :unamused:
Cheers Dave.

I can’t really imagine that it happens nowadays, Dave.

A Volvo F10 from Ron Weatherhall’s Mid Wales album, but not sure who it belongs to.

A livestock artic, seen on the A49 on Leominster bypass.

Still got an operators licence Pete, but I can’t recall seeing any of their vehicles, unless they don’t have their name on them nowadays.
Cheers Dave.

A North Wales motor on Ron’s album, one which Trevor Tasktrucker will know, they also had Herefordshire depots.

Another one from Ron’s album.

Another of Ron’s Mid Wales album pics, he certainly takes some good one’s.

One of Herefordshire firm Pontrilas Timber Foden’s, seen by Ron Weatherhall in Mid Wales.

Another from the same outfit from Ron’s album.

Huw Thomas wagons looked much smarter when Ron took this pic, than they do in the white colour these days.

I’m no expert on roping and sheeting Pete, did a bit of it, not nearly as much as my Dad ,as he drove flat-bed wagons for over forty years. It looks good enough to me.
Cheers Dave.

Don’t know who this one belonged to. Another great pic from Ron Weatherhall, taken at the same place as the previous one.
