Sad news this way Derek Gough boss of A E Gough & Sons passed away on Friday.My condolences to the Gough family.
Derek pictured here in the Daf was a true gentleman and lorry man,he lent me a load of photo’s a couple of years ago to post on this thread. RIP Derek.

Yes Nathan,that was Derek still in the office every day and still driving an artic if it needed loading at a local quarry or taking/collecting from a dealer.A true lorry man all his life.His two sons Simon and Michael are in the business,as was his father before him and his younger brother Stuart who finished a few years ago.Derek had haulage and lorries in his blood and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

I’m pretty sure he brought a load into Gill Mill a year or two back, as someone mentioned an old guy driving for them.

He was the Gaffer Nathan right up to when he was taken ill last Wednesday.He had as much enthusiasm as any young bloke for lorries and the business right up to the end.As another haulier told me he never bad mouthed anyone.
