We see quite a lot of their fleet up and down to the local quarries. Worcestershire isn’t that far from here.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave , Gloucestershire wasn’t too far away from your area in my days .I used to tip regularly at BOCM in Leominster early am then load out of the Gore for London area with chippings or precoat for Kent. Would have been 1978 ish, was the chap on the loading shovel called Reg ? He could load me to within a gnat’s thingy of my legal payload! - spot on chap he was.!

I worked out of the Gore and used to haul to Gloucester and all of that county Laurie. Reg Baker lived in this village until just after he retired. Sadly he lost his wife about the same time.He lives nearer to Ludlow now with his partner. I have known him all my life. I only live two miles from the Gore and can see the quarry from here. They still get lorries from that way and all over up at these quarries. Who did you drive for Laurie ?
Cheers Dave…

I was running my own wagons at the time, Dave and at that time it would have been a new S reg Volvo F10 with a 46 cu yd Rothdean trailer. The unit was painted in a very “LOUD” green i.e Le Mans Green with Mid brunswick green chassis .I doubt many will remember as it was all such " A long time ago" !! Cheers

I can’t say I remember it Laurie. I expect Norman Evans who was on the weighbridge would remember. He is another that has been retired a few years.Still lives locally.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave am sending you a PM Cheers!

Cheers Dave.

I’m sure it has, probably got it in the day’s when the buying was good. I think he had a new tipper fitted a couple of years ago, and he seems quite busy, see him most day’s in one place or another…Looks a bit different from most of the local trucks as there’s not that many 4 wheelers around here…

Its the same this way Paul there are only two of the four wheelers left working for the local quarries. The likes of Radbournes have some of theirs collecting for their own customers. The number of six wheelers are getting less. Its eight wheelers and artics doing most of the work now.
Cheers Dave.
