Hi Dave I would like to have gone to the show but I have no car now. It was costing me too much. Any way enough of me don’t stop sending the pictures in . Your thread is always the one I look for first. I like the different lorries you have on here. It would be a shame if you finish . But I respect your decision if that’s what you want too do it .Tony
Still got some pics to post Tony, and if we go to Gaydon we will have some more. The problem is getting pics of older lorries is difficult. I have had most of the hauliers in this area lend me theirs. I have got a couple more with their pics promised, we will see.
Cheers Dave.
Don’t you pack up yet Dave you havn’t had a photo of me on the road yet, and after all that time I’ve spent polishing!!!
regards Keith

i think the plain white cabs are not just saving money on painting , the resale value is better without the livery . cheers , dave
You are probably right about that Dave, although the likes of Stobart’s and other big outfits have theirs wrapped in vinyl which they just peel off when they finish with them.
Cheers Dave.
lovely looking sprinter dave , where’s the cb ariel ? i am in deep doodoo 's with 'er indoors , went and bought a lovely santa fe 4x4 yesterday , all the bells and whistles , she hates it ,"i don’t want to ride in a black car , it’s like a bloody hearse " . too late my dear , i collect it on monday .cheers , dave
Haven’t had a CB in anything other than the transit in recent years Dave. Used to have one in every vehicle I owned since the late 70’s,but there aren’t many using them nowadays. I always ran with the CB switched on when I was in the transit, but only spoke to some of the tipper drivers now and then. I still have a homebase that is still hooked up.
I think with vehicles there is a time to cut your losses. My old transit was still running well, but it needed tyres and the rust was coming through again,so it went to auction. I see its for sale on ebay now. Best of luck to them.
Cheers Dave.
she chose the last one rof , petrol , manual , bog standard , so i get my choice , turbo diesel , automatic , cruise control 'cos i have to drive it . probably the last car we will have , unless i am still doddering round in a mobility car in my 80s , cheers , dave

Some friends of ours have recently bought a santa fe 4X4. They look a nice vehicle. Not wishing to be personal, but a higher vehicle is easier to get in and out of as you get older, some of these modern car are quite low.
Cheers Dave.
my thinking exactly dave , having problems with the back and legs now , so a few years down the line hight could be a crucial factor . i fancy a couple of those big spotlights like your sprinter , but i’ll have to wait until i’m in the good books again , maybe get it resprayed in a colour she likes , cheers , dave

Just stick a couple on there Dave, it will be a while before she notices them, then tell her they are
a standard fitting.
Cheers Dave.
Congratulations Dave 600 pages heres to the next 600 ! I like your new. Sprinter looks really tidy. Talking about c b’ s whats the law about using them is it the same as mobile phones 3 points and a £60 fine for using them while driving ? Tony
