Two more …

HI Steve,
When we were in Burgoynes yard a couple of years ago, the Seddon Atkinson was being used as a shunter.
Cheers Dave.
Still in occasional use apparently – far tidier than the Leyland Freighter shunter that they use on site!
Will have to call in and have a look Steve. I go by the place about three times a week.
Cheers Dave.
Here you go, Dave - a bit of a smoky old beast but still in action

Yes Steve, they still run a few of those on the marquee side of the business.
Cheers Dave.
Yes - we snapped the J reg one working in a field just outside Lyonshall - just down the lane from the sharp bend where that really tatty house is.
They own a couple of farms down that road Steve. If you go on their website you will see a lot of their history.
Cheers Dave.
Heard dave drivers been given 90 day notice, haulage for sale
Not surprised Andrew, they haven’t been running many for quite a while.
Cheers Dave.
Very sad news , an old established company . Dave can you remember their leyland Comets and Albions ? regards Keith

Yes I can Keith, they had them when I was driving in the late 1960’s. I did get a job there, but turned it down after a weekend of weighing up the travelling, also courting at the time. Have always regretted not taking it, as they were a good firm. I expect they could still run the pallet side of it and the marquee wagons. We are to far from the motorway network up this way for firms such as them.
Cheers Dave.

The camera person and one other at Harwich.

The ferry in the background was being loaded with Landrover Discovery’s and Freelanders at Harwich bound for the Hook.

A couple of wagons, seen heading into the port of Harwich.
Thanks for the photos of the cameraperson and the lifeboats, Dave. Not sure about the “one other”!
If I ever win the lottery I intend to buy a redundant lifeboat and turn it into a cabin cruiser. Then win the lottery again to fill the fuel tanks!

A close up for you Casey. With the camera person back behind the camera.
Cheers Dave.

She’s a star, Dave!

She certainly is Casey. The two Harwich lifeboats, with a Maersk container ship at Felixstowe in the background.

Have got a few more along there to put on Harry, she didn’t take many photo’s of lorries.
Doesn’t want them on the same memory card as the holiday pics.

Cheers Dave.

A couple more heading into Harwich.

Heading for the port of Harwich.

One leaving the Port of Harwich.

Could have got some good pics if we had been allowed in there.

One of Conod’s ERF’s loaded with a couple of ex tarmac vans, seen at their Barons Cross,Leominster garage.

The Commer from the rear.
Is that the early type of night-heater?
