It would be interesting to know the combined mileage of all the vehicles at the show.
Interesting to see the development of these vehicles, despite what some say, they did modernise them through the years.
Hi Dave great pictures as usual. What was your favourite lorry at Gaydon ? Tony

Hi Tony,
The Commer Maxiload that were there I suppose, as that was the lorry I liked the most out of the regular vehicles that I drove.
I liked all of the British wagons at the show, plus some of the foreign stuff. I liked seeing the BRS wagons as well. It was an excellent show.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave,
Great pictures nice to see you there again, it was a good show, I struggled to see it all with my dodgy knee.
That maxiload would be one of the last made on a K reg. they had a belt driven rear engine mounted air compressor which had a habit of throwing the belt off, put many back on at the side of the road and always put a spare belt in the cabs.

Hi Trev,
Hope you soon get your knee sorted and get back to full fitness. The Maxiload I drove was BFO347D which was new in 1966, I drove it in 1968/9 for C W Griffiths. I often wondered why he never bought anymore of them. I think the main reason was because they were fairly heavy and the payload was better on the Ergo cabbed Leyland Comet and he was moving into six wheeler tippers at the time, which have all been superseded by eight wheelers now.
Cheers Dave.
I drove a Bedford KM like this one on an F plate for eight months for C M Philpotts which pulled like a train with a 466 engine and a two speed axle.
