Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

Dave the Renegade:

A new Volvo FMX tipper on display at Gaydon.

My TM is looking into these as they’re designed for the construction market. Our Workshop manager isn’t as keen as they’re a bit heavy.

Dave the Renegade:

A eye catching motor, just right for an accessories trailer.

Did you buy any bling, Dave? I saw several of Griffiths Tarmac wagons around Pershore on Friday morning, plus at least one EMAC of Kington; Perhaps running to Topmix at Pershore?

Didn’t go near the trailer Nathan, nothing on there that I wanted.Have bought things off them mail order in the past, but can usually find stuff cheaper than they can sell it for.Dolyhir lorries have been hauling tarmac to Broadway last week.
Cheers Dave.

Cheers Dave.

Got a bit more grunt than the moter with the same cab that you don’t like Harry  .
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Lot more grunt yes Ive done a trip with a 110 and even that had a lot more grunt I had an Atki with a 180 percy in it when on for Killingbeck’s and that had more grunt a lot more grunt those 80 things should have driven off the assembly line straight to the scrapyard the most overrated lorry, don’t know how Scania’s got away with calling them 32 tonners a breach of the trade description’s act if ever I saw one.
thanks harry long retired.

That 140 with the V8 would have been the lorry of its day.My mate has a 111 in his shed,he keeps saying he’s going to restore it.I doubt it myself.I expect it will end up being sold.
Cheers Dave.

Here’s the new one for you Harry.I think the 730 BHP would have pulled well at 32 ton
