Hi Harry & Andrew,
Not many phone boxes for the Stobart drivers to use anymore that work.Did hear that Harsco had lost the contract on the steel. They don’t seem to have been doing it long, never mind, will have some different lorries to look at,although both are on the A49 already.
Cheeers Dave.

Not good light on this pic of one of Owens Llanelli motor’s,seen on the A49 between Craven Arms and Church Stretton.

A Daf artic tanker, seen on the A49 at Church Stretton.

A rare four wheeler Volvo FM7 tipper, belonging to Harry Price & Co,seen on the A49 at Church Stretton.

One of Maidens from Telford, seen on the A49 near Leebotwood,Shropshire.

I think that’s the first FM 4wheel tipper I’ve seen, Dave.I’dve thought the tare weight would be too high to justify one over the FL/FE.
I saw that brown Seddon Atkinson curtainsider you posted a photo of a week or two ago near Oxford today so the old girl still gets around…

I would think the FM7 is a former tracter unit Nathan.I don’t think they made an FM7 four wheeler…
That Seddon Atkiinson certainly does some miles.
Cheers Dave.

One of Salop Sand and Gravel lorries, seen on the A49 not far from base at Dorrington.

What a stupid looking little lorry :open_mouth: , I thought it was only the wallys around her that ran things like that.

Does look a bit odd John, but that outfit have I think run out of sand at their Dorrington pit. They take a lot of muckshift in there,so that motor with the swap body is probably a good earner for them.
Cheers Dave.

Re’ the roro 4wheeler, Huntsmans’ have an 8wheeler that swaps between roles as a tipper (though I’d say the payload would only be that of a 6wheeler), flatbed for blockstone and I’ve been told they have a 6m2 mixer for it aswell. Cooper Construction of Witney have a MAN 4wheeler roro so groundworkers can barrow-load the bodies while the lorry’s elsewhere. That one you pictured must be higher than 7.5ton gvw or the payload would be pitiful?

It has it’s uses I suppose, but you would have to have the frilly curtains pulled round so that nobody saw you    with the tare of that steel roll on/off body, you 'd get a better payload in a mini van.

This batch of pics were taken on dreary day,so some aren’t that special. This Renault seen on the A49 at Dorringtonis one.

One of McCarthy’s,seen on the A49 near Dorrington.

One of the South Wales tarmac hauliers who are working up here most of the time, seen on the A44 at Dunfield, near Kington.

I’ve heard a rumour that one of the ‘contracted hauliers’ from up this way is getting a unit and a walking floor tarmac trailer and going all over the country with it, apparantly as some kind of PR excercise/experiment. :sunglasses:

There was someone else using one of those on tarmac hammer. Can’t remember where it was.
Cheers Dave.
