Welsh Border and Mid Wales Hauliers 1950's onwards

Dave the Renegade:

This one tells its own story.

hiya,
Dragged a few dead loco’s with one like these well up to the job
but very slowly, though very reliably, never missed getting there.
thanks harry long retired.

Dave the Renegade:

A Foden four wheeler at the show.

Dave, again, thanks for the pictures. Can you imagine setting off from Shrewsbury in one almost identical to this, 4LK Gardner, 5speed, speedometer in the steering wheel centre,(except it was a 16ft aluminium box), next stop Paris, (Parc de Prince), then Marsailles, (Vieux Port). A dream to drive, 38mph, quiet, just like a journey in an Edwardian Railway carriage!!
Later she took me to Turin, and Milan, no drama, just real class!! and 20mpg!!! Yes the 60s really did swing!! Cheerio for now.

Volvo F88 timber wagon still working after nearly 40 years.

A well travelled ERF of Eric Vick’s.

Smart looking ERF looks as if it could be put to work anytime.

Two not seen at Gaydon.

A very nice old ERF four wheeler.

Some more show regulars S Jones of Bethania.

Volvo piggyback.F10 giving a lift to an F86.

Another tidy ERF looking as good as original.

One of the late Brian Harris motors.

Two of Vic Haines of Pershore ERF’s.

A Staffordshire reg Foden in its original state by the look of it alongside an ERF from the same area.
