Had a 63 plate for a wee while last year. I think I was supposed to be impressed at getting one of the newer trucks on the fleet, a 63 plate with a tiny 88,000 km on the clock…hmmm…it used to love locking up on the mid axle on anything but the lightest braking effort thereby emitting clouds of smoke and squealing like a stuck pig…I wasn’t a fan of the handling when loaded, didn’t inspire confidence at all…night heater was very weird to work, I never cracked it but didn’t do many…effin radio would flash like a ■■■■■■■ disco with no apparent way of switching the light show off, greta in the dark hours!

We had a batch of them at Securicor years ago, by two years old they were mostly yard shunters or just dumped.

I did about 3 years for securicor from 2000 to 2003 and remember the ivecos. Luckily for me that’s the last time I had to drive one!

Well, one month in and less than 25k on the clock and the things died. Back at dealer for a couple of days, seems to be a software fault.

I tend to agree, iveco are crap

am i the ONLY person on this forum that actually LIKES iveco

Can’t really comment on the cubby holes as it was the old style dashboard, but didn’t really find it a problem.
I thought the truck was comfortable, quiet, I went through some rain but no water came into the cab and there didn’t seem to be any air leaks through the doors and the windows didn’t fall down when I shut the door.
Ok it’s not a top of the range bit of kit and the fit and finish does lack the refined feel of some of the premium makes. It’s also obvious that they’ve kept trying to update a cab that is probably long past it’s design life, so some of the updated parts do feel like they’ve been shoehorned into the cab instead of designed for it, but despite that I didn’t think it was a bad truck.

That is exactly how I would review any DAF.
