it’s a good little number if you are on a certain radius,i used to do pallet multi drop up to 20 drops a day,but it was roughly a 20 mile radius,i was allways finished at the latest by 2pm this inc my break in a regular cafe, then about 4 collections and back to base for 1700 finish, this was after starting at 07 30 in the morning, also used to do nicely on the euro pallets on that job, usually cleared about £10/£15 pounds most days from one of the pallet buyers in the area, never nicked them, most companies were happy to get them off their property if you asked nicely and were not afraid to load them by hand, made £50 in two days on one occasion, shame I lost it over an argument with some ■■■■■■■■ warehouseman I delivered to,company was Scottish express near heathrow [no longer around],good little number.
11 years on 3.5t multi drop I did , for the most part I loved it and it kept me fit .

Once you get your own way of working and know the stores it’s not that bad tbh,
This applies to virtually all multi-drop jobs. Naturally you struggle for the first few days unless you’re fortunate enough to work for a good firm who have the sense to give you a few days’ training; but once you get to know your drops, and the way the company works, it’s much easier.
I also firmly believe that good multi-drop drivers, like good artic drivers, are born and not made. You need a lot better face-to-face skills for a start so don’t even bother doing it if you’re a miserable bugger who doesn’t like interacting with other people.
I did 15 months pallet multidrop and I was in my early sixties. I lost nearly two stone (no bad thing) but on the whole I enjoyed it but for the rubbish firm I worked for.
Knackered old lorry and an alarmingly bad attitude to drivers.
But the drops were interesting, mainly industrial and as I did the same city every day no nasty surprises and not much handball.
Pay was rubbish too but 8 o’clock start and (usually) home for 6.30 - 7 was a steady, if demanding, number.
If the night trunks were late back and you didn’t get away 'til 10 - those were the days you could do without. You still had to get it all done inc collections.
Eighty to a hundred urban, or thirty/forty rural parcel drops a day. That’s multi-drop, you big wusses!
I spent the last five years or so before I finally packed it in, doing multi drops for Palletforce. I suppose I was lucky to work for a decent employer, but it was a good job, once I got to know the job.
As an agency driver, I used to get stick from TM’s when it took me three hours longer than the regular guy, or I came back with a couple of drops not done. When I was doing it full time, it was easy to see why. Firm A doesn’t take deliveries before 10am because the yard is still full of their own vans. Firm B stops for an hour 12 till 1. Firn C takes their deliveries a mile away from the address on the delivery note… The FLT driver at firm D is happy to re-sort your load when there are a lot of collections. Firm F insists that all their stuff can not be stacked and must go on the floor (see firm D).
Every place you go has their own idiosyncrasies and it takes a while to learn. Once you get it - jobs a good un.
