This is the sort of thing putting me off going back into wagons. I find tacho regs all to confusing and easy to ■■■■ it all up.

Don’t let it put you off even a dumb arse like me got his shiny head round it after 17 years off and I ain’t had an infringement for about 4 years or more now.

Edit: I did get half a dozen or so in the first 2 yrs of coming back into it.

Just find it all a bit intimidating pal, not worked on a tacho for 7!years or so now, except the odd day here and there when I’ve done a trial or odd day for bit for A bit of extra cash. I’ve been looking through books and articles on it but just find it a ■■■■■■■ mine field, I’m sure it could be a lot more simple than it is

Get a copy of the regs and spend a few evenings reading through them it worked for me.

Here you go mate, if you haven’t already seen it have a browse through the DVSA guide to the regulations.

Rules on Drivers Hours and Tachographs

If there’s anything you’re not sure about just ask.

I came back to driving after a leave of about 22 years so I know how confusing the regulations can be at first

The thing about threads like this is that they’re not the norm, I’m pretty sure most people go years without ever wanting or needing to have two consecutive reduced weekly rest periods, so don’t let this sort of stuff put you off getting back in the drivers seat.

Cheers tachograph!
