Currently sat loaded at a chicken farm near Cambridge with recently received instructions NOT Ito move until I receive instructions. We load chicken litter (basically a mix of their bedding and waste) that we usually take to be burned at Thetford power station, or farmers in England and Scotland buy it to spread on their land.
Unfortunately the two guys before me got to Thetford and both loads have been rejected for being too wet. By the time they rang me to not load it was too late as I’d finished.

Chicken farm moaster , no thanks
On odd times I’ve delivered into chicken farms, and not much liked it. Worse though was in a chicken factory where truck loads of plastic boxes of chickens were regularly off loading.
Put me off me off chicken meat for, honestly…not very long at all.
I don’t eat foie gras anymore but most other meats, etc I do.
I picked up from a bacon/ pork place at malton , they say the pigs don’t know what’s happening , but I’ve never heard noises like it , long time ago so process at abattoir may of changed .
We used to deliver swill fed pigs into Malton for Walls Meat. This was in the 80’s after Walls closed their own slaughter hall at their Hyde factory.
Well got to my delviery and man from del monte say’ s NO till moring (is a 7am drop tomorrow any way )
On a plus I can park here so don’t have to track back to the Hollies or Truckers rest

Anyway no idea where the dafs have gone , another scania , very short day , just home bargains Warrington & back , plenty of fuel / ad blue
We picked loads out of malton Gateshead , took them either to storage places on dock at hull or Scunthorpe ,can’t remember why I’d of been round the abattoir side , maybe delivering something in , or picking something up , I’m guessing at 20/25 yrs ago
Pulled over at keele , legs killing me ( assume cramp again ) , need a walk , wife says dehydrated, drinking 3 bottles of water so should be ok
@ady why did you say short day you know now it will go pete tong 
I know b/e , but you live in hope , deciding on whether to go m62 /A1 or m6 /a50 , which has least chance of change over / collection , bet I pick the wrong way
They also don’t seem so bothered these days about the hours you do b/e as your only guaranteed 45 per week now , not 9 3/4 per day as you were, do 5/6 hrs thats what your paid
