Thankyou thankyou thankyou juddian at least someone speaks sense

Absolute love the sarcastic comments on here never thought about ringing them and asking

How many firms DO actually tell you straight “What the wages are” about ANY job - especially ones advertised via “Recruitment” firms?.. :stuck_out_tongue:

If we all knew what everyone else in the industry was getting, then there would be a Syrian-style exodus of drivers away from skintflint outfits towards those paying top dollar - wouldn’t there?

All depends doesn’t it whether you like the job or not as the Grass isn’t always greener on other side

I would be making for comparison - like for like jobs here.

If one asked to define the “good” and “crappy” driving jobs going - IF one were to make “all pay equal” for a moment for the purpose of argument, we might get something looking like the following:-

IF Driver’s pay were £15ph everywhere, then which jobs would see migration?

(1) Drivers would insist upon a job near to where they live, since moving house has never been as expensive as it is right now. Commuting costs may have come down of late, but it’s the TIME one spends commuting that effectively extends one’s working day.

(2) Drivers would want a job with defined content (a regular run that is “their’s”) OR a “variety approach” which would probably be more popular with the younger drivers (ie you turn up, get given a tractor, and told “Take this to <random location on the mainland UK”, like freight forwarding outfits like Saints might do.

(3) Drivers would want to pick the shifts that fit around their private lives best. I don’t think this is EVER going to be “9-5 working” as it is for office wallers.

(4) There are plenty of us that would prefer 4x12 hour shifts than 5x9.5hrs or 6x8 hours. There are arguments for and against all of these options though. With pay being equal, a driver could make known what patterns they’d prefer to work, good for well-being, longevity, reduced sick absence, and of course general morale.

(5) Kit: In my mind, ONLY the transport/Road industry should be able to offset road use expenses for taxation purposes. This would encourage yards to “upgrade” as often as they can to the latest kit. It’s about time we got all those A-reg (1980) fairground tractors off the road in any case. HowTF do they get these dustcarts through the MOTs every year FFS?

Hi anyone know how much ets pay in looking for a full time job from January nottingham area derby loughborough

Nft pay good money.

To O/p, no need to get ■■■■■ with everybody mate just because you did not get the expected response.
The obvious answer IS contact them.
However if you had put in the first place the full circumstances and reason for your enquiry, instead of expecting us …quote; ‘so called pro drivers’ to have clairvoyant powers, you may have got different answers, and it would have been a better procedure than coming on alienating yourself to everybody :bulb: …just saying like

Pour the tea mum! :grimacing:

I must admit I don’t get the whole what does x y z pay threads, nor why the same people post them, from my own experience in a set area most pay about the same on any general type work, dhl etc will advertise, ESL its £8 plus 1700 bonuses over the year to get you to a living wage.

but to answer the OP I don’t know and as other have said drive down or call.

Ok - Hands up folks - Has ANYONE on here ever heard of “higher wages at ■■■’s yard” and upped sticks at once to get a job there instead of here where the grass is not so green apparently… :sunglasses:

no - most ‘higher’ paid jobs have drivers who don’t run about shouting from the roof tops about it in my experiences.
