wage slips

Driveroneuk:
What’s VOSA got to do with drivers payment? :unamused:

driver gets paid. chancellor takes a cut, and vosa take a cut. £200 is the usual.

tallyman:
How long have you actually been working for him?. If it’s prior to beginning of April this year then you should have definitely received a P60 showing your tax/earnings for the previous year - this is a far more important document than a payslip. Also, if you’ve been there for some time and you have no proof of having paid any tax then the taxman can be very unforgiving and can insist you pay any tax due since the beginning of your employment. Just saying you thought the boss was paying your Tax/NI is absolutely no excuse.

he can ask, but he has no legal grounds to force someone on PAYE to cough up.

thanks for your help, got back today and was handed my p60,

That’s a start. Still no excuse for no wage slips though. Are the details on you p60 correct?

I’d still give HMRC a call just to be sure though. Still sounds a bit suspect to me. :open_mouth:

I worked for a company that went bust. Started a new job,3 weeks later got a call from office stating tax office have no records of contributions for 2 years. After a call to tax office and faxing some payslips it turned out x boss had been showing deductions but not paying HMRC. Because I had all payslips showing deductions I did not have to pay anything. I also contacted NI office and got the same news from them. If you have a payslip that states your employer has deducted TAX and NI from you the authourities will not persue matter any further. They will chase your x employer for any monies owed. Mine was charged with embezzelment and was prosecuted. Make sure you have a weekly/monthly pay slip, this is a legal requirement.

i pick my wage slips up once a year when i get my p60, just can’t be assed to go to the office to get them so they just keep them all together for me, unless i need them for any reason, i know where they are too so never get lost :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

the company i work for does not issue wage slips, pays cash into my bank every week, recently i went to get my house remortgaged but they want 3 months wage slips as proof of my earnings, asked my boss for said slips and got a lot of verbale off him,i know he is suppose to issue you them ,so anybody know what i can do about this ? many thanks

Grass him up to VOSA, road transport would be better off without him.

If you don’t like how the job is run then go get a new job somewhere else. Why mess up ALL the other drivers job who maybe happy with the way its run now.

Seem selfish to me.

Not an honest employer, he has to provide wage slips or on line pay advices by law.
Our company doesn’t issue them either but we get ours on line right to our email, it’s a great system becasue the email arrives by lunchtime weds even though the pay goes into our accounts on friday morning, so we can call in with any questions before the actuall payment.

in this “paperless” world we live in an employer does not have to supply a wage slip, but if the employee requests one every week the employer has to supply it every week or if the employee wishes he/she can get the employers accountants name/address/email and have his wage slip e-mailed to him.

I get mine online! :open_mouth:

why would an empoyer HAVE to provide a WEEKLY slip, if you are paid monthly, and why would the company accountants have anything to do with payrolls ?

if you could be arsed to read what i wrote,i was after wage slips so i could remortgage on my house not how the job is run knob…

Was your P60 correct? That, along with a phonecall to your employer doing a quick check, should be enough for a mortgage company.

doesn’t a P60 simply show what you earned etc for the last year up to April.
It doesn’t show that you are currently in work at all.

Ultimately the individual is responsible for ensuring that the correct income tax and National Insurance contributions are paid to HMRC.

Unless you have written evidence that the money has been deducted from your pay you may have a hard job convincing HMRC that you believed that everything was correct.

They may try and get the money from your employer but failing that they will get it from you and if you are on PAYE they will simply adjust your tax code to reclaim it.

That’s why they would at least phone the employer. It really depends on how much of a remortgage the OP is looking for & how much equity there is.

would at least phone

I would be surprised if they accepted a P60 and a phone call, neither of which prove that he is in employment.
I would also think that not being able to produce wage slips as being strange and an explanation of the boss not supplying them would start alarm bells ringing for them.
As said above though, much will depnd on amouint of mortgage and existing equity.

If you could be arsed to read you would of seen i was replaying to someone talking about grassing up someone for how they run their business and NOT to you remortgage your house.

ps, I don’t need to go down to your level of name calling you have made yourself look a right knob on your own!
