the company i work for does not issue wage slips, pays cash into my bank every week, recently i went to get my house remortgaged but they want 3 months wage slips as proof of my earnings, asked my boss for said slips and got a lot of verbale off him,i know he is suppose to issue you them ,so anybody know what i can do about this ? many thanks
Is it not a legal requirement to issue you with a wage slip?
Yes it is a legal requirement but doesn’t sound like one of those kind of bosses
Sounds like he has something to hide if he aint giving you a pay slip every week!!!
I’m sure it’s a legal requirement, I’d want them just to show tax and ni had been paid if the taxman came asking questions. Is your wages paid in from a company account??

Exactly. A mate of mine worked with a guy who wasn’t paying his tax and NI. Only came to light when he changed jobs and the tax man had no record of contributions made in his previous employment. Luckily he had wage slips from him showing his ‘deductions’ so it kept my mate in the clear.
he pays some drivers cash, the rest he goes round the various banks and pays in cash with our own paying in books?

It’s probably fair to say that your boss is running bent! Don’t be surprised if he disappears in a cloud of smoke when Her Majesty’s government come looking for him!

Grass him up to VOSA, road transport would be better off without him.

Do people start threads like this for a private joke, or is there some kind of betting going on?
I’m surprised he doesn’t send his seven year old round to the banks on a forklift.

Look in the Scottish Traffic Area’s “Applications and Decisions”
It’s a legal requirement to provide a wage slip showing any deductions such as paye & ni contributions. You’re boss is effectively paying you cash in hand, make sure you have a good excuse for the hmrc when your boss eventually disappears and you get a proper job, they will want to know why there is a big gap in your contributions.
He’s probably knocking tax & ni off your wages and pocketing it.

Exactly.
i had a job years ago that did give me wage slips but i had a letter from the authorities wanting to know why i had not paid tax or ni for 12 months…i had to send them my wage slips to prove my boss had stopped the money…ex boss was prosecuted.
Might be an idea to ring the tax office yourself, they’ll ask for your NI number.
I’ve found them to decent and fair to deal with.
They’ll soon tell you if you’ve been paying tax or not, better now than later and better you go to them than they come looking for you later.
What they said, something is not right here, get it sorted asap.
What’s VOSA got to do with drivers payment?
How long have you actually been working for him?. If it’s prior to beginning of April this year then you should have definitely received a P60 showing your tax/earnings for the previous year - this is a far more important document than a payslip. Also, if you’ve been there for some time and you have no proof of having paid any tax then the taxman can be very unforgiving and can insist you pay any tax due since the beginning of your employment. Just saying you thought the boss was paying your Tax/NI is absolutely no excuse.
